OMG, everyone!! My best friend since middle school just had her first child and she had twins. You cannot imagine the level of shock and excitement I felt when she first told me her great news. I have known her and her husband for years and they were just as excited. During my trip to NYC to see my family I had to swing through and see her too. I spent most of the day with her and her two little boys. They were just absolutely adorable and I had to scrap my visit. I have utilized the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection for this layout. I started out with using Hello Love patterned paper for the background and started layering Bear Hug and other patterned papers along the top and bottom.
I added white acrylic paint to tone down some of the colors of the paper boarders I was adding. I then added yellow watercolors to add more of that color to the page to enhance the background keeping it along these layered papers and I added grey to exaggerate the shadows among the layers. It was all done very subtlety.
I used my Cuttle bug and the Little B Monogram letter dies to cut out the word "Twinsies" for part of my title. I used paper from the same collection in the 6x6 pad. It was the polka dot patterned paper and it was disappearing into the background so I outlines the letters with a black Sharpie pen to have them stand out again.
I added dies from the collection to this layout. I had the arrow and heart wood veneers in my stash and used my yellow gelatos from Faber Castell to color them, again to add more yellow to the page. This was a softer layout for me to do compared to my other work, but I loved it for the moment it captured with these two tiny babies. I linked the process video below for your viewing pleasure. Its football season!!! And what better way to celebrate than to scrap preseason and opening day photos of me and Miguel and our dog, Zoe. Yes, I am that dog mom who puts her dog into football jerseys. Miguel is the extreme football fan and I am his little pupil. I am once again using the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection. I have been able to do plenty family and friend layouts in addition to two sports themed pages. Thats when you know the collection is great, to use it so diversely. I started out this layout with the Happy Happy patterned paper and used clear gesso.
I pulled in the Miami Dolphin colors by adding pumpkin orange and aqua acrylic paint from Apple Barrel. I used my Dina Wakley Mixed media brushes to apply the paint and wanted to see the brush strokes. And I continues to add splatters with my inexpensive watercolor set from Michael's.
I have never scrapped a layout with four photos before. This layout worked because I used one 4x6, one 3x4 and 2 3x2 photos in a grid like arrangement. I matted the dog photos on matching 6x6 patterned papers from the collection and tight matted the others with black card stock I proceeded to then matte them with torn edged copy paper. I did multiple layers for this part. After I adhere the photos down, I added more watercolor splatters for the edge. I did have to protect my photos when doing this part, because splatter technique is random and can get all over your photos.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum due to the amount of photos I used. I simply added the phrase thicker from the collection in "our fav" with a black heart.

The new Dear Lizzy collection is very diverse in my eyes. Here I am taking her whimsical feminine collection and using the bold black and white pattern paper to use for a sports page. Part of my trip to NY included a NY Giants vs. NY Jets football preseason game. It was made more special and an event worth scrapping because of tennis loving mother wanted to go with us. My mom does not understand football at all. But she simply wanted to be with me and my sister full time, so she put on a Giants T shirt and came with. Bless her little heart she made it through three of the four quarters before we left. I started with using the Love This patterned paper and wanted to use the true team colors of royal blue, red and gray.
I used black card stock in used the rule of thirds for the stripes. I mixed modeling paste and cobalt blue acrylic paint along with the new Dina Wakley Arrows stencil. I mixed a second batch of modeling paste and bright red acrylic paint to add the additional color. My stenciling managed to get all smeared this time. Thats the creative process this time around.
I added the splatters with my inexpensive watercolor set from Michael's in red and blue to the layout after it was dried. The die cuts are from the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection along with the phrase sticker in "my crew". I used my cuttle bug and the Little B Monogram dies to cut our "me" for my title.
The large wood veneers are from the Heidi Swapp Memory Planner collection. These were in my stash and I painted them gold for this layout. I added glitter punched stars to the layout and scraps of gold foiled acetate left over from the Journeys collection by Crate Paper. A fun sporty layout with the Dear Lizzy Collection. Hello lovely ladies, I am simply loving the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection. I am using it to scrap all my pictures of my recent trip to NY to see my sister and brothers. I conquered NY on this weekend and managed to do a little bit of everything. For this layout I am starting off with Blossoms patterned paper with the same warm magenta red color I loved in the last layout. In order to enhance this color, I mixed Artist Loft acrylic paint from Michaels with modeling paste and used my Prima Marketing Fading Floral stencil. To add a little contrast to the floral I grabbed this chevron stencil from my stash with the same magenta modeling paste.
I also added teal green water colors around the area where I knew the photos would go. The teal and magenta are just two beautiful colors together. I matted both photos with the Documentary 6x6 paper pad. I was able to utilize more of the patterned paper with my Cuttlebug die machine. I used my Little B Monogram die letters to cut out sisters in a variety of papers. They are outlined with a Sharpie pen.
The ephemera and stickers used are also from the Dear Lizzy collection. I have gold glitter paper in my stash and used my heart punch to add a hint of gold to the layout. The "forever" phrase thicker is also from the collection.
These two cute sunglasses are in her die cut pack and they reminded of me and my sister. She actually has a nerdy pair of glasses like these that she wears for distance and I am the girl to wear some heart shaped sun glasses anytime, anywhere. So they were perfect to add to the corner of this picture. I've grown to love the addition of thread to a layout, it adds a "messy" quality that I like. OMG, is it possible to love your own layouts too much? I cannot get over how well this four layouts in my Project Life album turned out. I recently had a long weekend away to NYC to see my sister, brothers, and friends and I have be scrapping 12x12 layouts with them, but for a majority of the pictures I wanted to keep in my pocket pages. So that is exactly what I did. Now don't get me wrong, I took hundreds of photos but I printed these. I bet I could have made a mini album with the amount of pictures I took. So a majority of supplies used were from my Studio Calico Project Life Subscription kits and embellishments from my stash. So with the page above I started with my plane tickets to and from NY as my title card. I also managed to get a 6x8 sticker sheet of NYC themed embellishments to jazz up some of my cards. The sequins used are from my stash. I used the Moldiv app on my phone to add the white texts on two of the photos. It also allows me to join two pictures as a 3x4 and print on a 4x6 photo paper. So that is a go to app. The stickers used on the 4x6 photos are from my stash as well. These pictures were all taken on Friday, my first day there.
I was happy with the layout because I split my day between two events. A daytime BBQ with my brothers and four nephews and a nighttime preseason football game with my mom and sister. It worked out perfectly to split the pocket page down the middle to capture these two events. The title card is from SC and then the family pics below. I used Kelly Purkey stamps with Staz-on black ink on the bottom photos and then Ali Edwards stamps on the football photos. The bright red and blue card I made using the actual parking pass to the game, it already had the date, time and opponent on it, and the red PL card is the packaging to an old Studio Calico kit. That card worked out perfectly. Love it because it is all the NY Giants team colors. Yay! I will always have a fondness for the NY Giants since I am from there and it was the first football team I followed growing up. These pictures were all taken on Saturday, my second day there.
These next two layouts were all from Sunday, the day I conquered NYC by Subway with my mom and sister. We literally spent the entire day, 9 am to 9 pm in the city doing a little bit of everything. The two project life cards are from SC once again and I used the NYC themed stickers for embellishments on each of them with some journaling. The white tiny word stickers are also from a SC kit. On this day we started off walking Highline near Chelsea piers and going all the way downtown to view the 9/11 memorial and the new World Trade Center building. The new building stands beautifully tall and appears to be made of mirror windows all the way up. Its modern and impressive at the same time. The memorial is an amazing site to see. There are two large scale infinite fountains made in remembrance of that tragic day. The perimeter of both are inscribed with the names of all our nations loved ones that we lost. Its peaceful there. Its respectful there. No one is speaking loud, everyone is behaving, there is no commotion. Its like to enter a quite zone, which i appreciated. There are rules on how to conduct ones self and everyone follow them. My mom and I got a little teary eyed as one does when you think back to that day. Everyone does at some degree I imagine.
Our day proceeded with a matinee broadway play of Matilda. I remember reading this story has a child. It was a musical and it was done very well. I kept our tickets for my title card again and used my mini attacher to fan them onto the PL card from SC. The two embellishment stickers are still from the 6x8 themed sticker sheet. I have recently loved taking feet/shoe pictures and here we are are over the subway grates. My journaling card is from SC again and the other filler card is the actual business card of the french pastry store we purchased fancy macaroons at and the gold Ferrara sticker is from an Italian bakery we purchased eclairs, canal and napoleons from. We went to SoHo for these two "must have" stops on our day. I have such a sweet tooth, that plate of pastries did not last long. Time square pictures are a must as well as the "Selfie" stick I purchased in the city too. I left NY the following day but not after some shopping with my mom. Surprisingly, I did not take one picture of our shopping extravaganza. It was the perfect amount of time to spend with my family before the bickering commenced. I love these layouts. Hello all of my lovely ladies and gentlemen who visit my blog. My sincerest apologies, I seem to be a little behind on my blog compared to my YT channel. There is no excuse other than "life got a bit busy". So I will get all caught up on my blog post for all my beautiful layouts that have gone up on my channel so you can see all the detailed photos. So I have been working with the lovely Dear Lizzy Documentary Collection that I recently hauled. I cannot stress enough how much I love this collection and sadly I have used it all up at this point. I made a total of 6 or 7 layouts with the supplies I purchased and I am tempted to re purchase it, I love it that much. I love Dear Lizzy, Heidi Swapp and Maggie Holmes Collections the most. The picture is of my sister, my mom and I in NYC after we saw a broadway play. I was just up there for a long weekend at the end of August. I have used this collection to scrap all my NY pictures. I started off with one of the beautiful florals patterened papers in the collection. This bold one is called Fancy Free. Now, it is bold and I wanted to tone it down a bit, so i added long sections of paper, the teal is the back side of Fancy Free, then a cut from Happy Happy, and then a branding stripe. Following that step, since I knew I wanted to add mixed media to my layout. I added white gesso to the center in a circular manner around the center of the page.
Once the Gesso was dried, I could have my fun with the mixed media. I started with Dylusion Ink in vibrant turquoise and the "packaging" technique. I also use my inexpensive watercolor set to add colorful splatters around the area as well.
Confession, I did swap out for a different photo. I had a colored version of this photo but I thoughts it was competing with the colorful background, so I reprinted it to black and white and that was the right choice. I layered patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad and also used a few of the stickers from the collection as well as layers.
The florals on the pages were made using the 6x6 paper pad and my Maggie Holmes dies from the Confetti Collection. I love this floral dies. They are beautiful and I made the topper with gold glitter paper for my gold element on the page. I simply love what they added to the page.
The other dies on the page are from the ephemera pack for the collection, I thought the pretzel was suiting since it was a picture from my trip to NY to see my sister. We were in NYC at the time where they do sell pretzels at the street corners. Loved that little touch. Of course no layout is complete without some ink splatters. I added some gold foiled wash tape from Little B on the top and bottom of the left side of the page as well. I have a process video for this layout on my channel: Life with Evi.
Hey there scrappy ladies! I have another beautiful layout using the contents of my 2015 September Clique Kit. It features Coco Vanilla's Hello Lovely Collection. I was tempted to use this black corrugated paper from Fancy Pants somehow some way. I decided to cut out my dog's name vertically. I made the letters free hand on card stock and used my exacto knife to cut the letters out. The polka dot paper for the background is Confetti by the Hello Lovely collection. The picture I am scrapping is a 5x7 picture of Zoe's birthday this year. Each year I make her a new birthday collar. I hot glued the blue and white flowers onto a head band and hair ties for her bracelets. She is 9 years old this year.
I added watercolor splatters around the cut out letters. These inexpensive watercolors from Michael's has great pigmentation in order to be seen on black paper. I love these watercolors. I used white, light pink and light purple to go with the paper collection.
"Princess" was cut with dies and my Cuttlebug. The die cuts are from the Hello Lovely collection and I fussy cut a floral from the cut a part page. I layered a few project life cards behind my picture. I am in love with adding pops of gold to my layouts and with a few punches I was able to add spots of gold. The Clique kits provide exclusive flair with each kit and I added the pink button with a white heart.
I had dog themed stickers in my stash so added an "I love my dog" sticker to the actual picture. I added the center to the letter 'O' in her name from the corrugated paper and added more watercolor splatters to it. There are a few light pink enamel dots and a few die cuts pieces from the Maggie Holmes Confetti collection.

I have fallen in love with the 365 Happy Planner, by Me & My Big Ideas because it combines the best of both planner worlds. The versatility of a 3 ring binder and the flexibility of a spiral bound planner. I was always torn with planners in the past for these reasons. With my Filofax, I could customize it any way i wanted with inserts and layouts but I am a right handed person and writing on the left side was always difficult and wish i could turn in on itself to comfort while writing. You cannot do that with a binder. With a spiral i can write or stamp easily by turning the whole book on itself, however, the inability to not customize the book was hard for me. I've jockeyed between planners my whole life always going back and forth. Now, with the Happy Planner, I have planner peace. I have the best of both worlds and I have been loving it. I love it more because I'm 'pretty planning' as my fellow planner addicts call it. Decorating my spreads with washi tape, stickers and scrapbook paper.
The whole concepts entices me to use my planner more and I find myself more productive personally, professionally and with my blog and YouTube channel. I love how the layouts provide divisions for Morning, Afternoon and Evening because i have customize these sections to fit my needs. I use the top for personal tasks and errands, the middle for my blog and YouTube channel and the bottom third is for work.
I have an extensive collection of washi tape already at my disposal due to my first love of scrapbooking. So decorating with washi is a must for me. I love coordinating spreads with a color scheme first. Then i can thumb through my huge stash of stickers to add more embellishments to my pages. And for me a spread is simply not complete until there is some scrapbook paper added for more color. I have purchased stickers and pocket folder from the MAMBI line that are add ons to the planner. I have purchased the inspirations quotes and the planner stickers in gold and color. I have even used my large collection of stamps into my planner as well. I'm am still trying to find the best kind of ink to use in my planner that will not bleed through the page.
I have made my own inserts for my YouTube channel and blog posts that keeps me organized even further. I love watching scrapbook process videos and like to jot down sketches from fellow scrappers as inspiration and have made inserts to do just that too. Its been an absolute joy to work in this planner this past month and look forward to updating you on other inserts and spreads that I create.
