Summer Fun

Good day scrapbooking friends! I have another fun and summery layout featuring the Summer Fun collection from Echo Park that is included in the July 2018 ScrapbookingStore.com kit.  The cut file is called Butterfly Background found at the Silhouette Design Studio website.

The cut file was done on plain white card stock and I backed most of the butterflies with patterned paper from the collection.  I left a few open because I knew I wanted to had a wash of color in the background.

The white card stock was gessoed before I added Distress Oxides Inks in Worn Lipsticks, Picked Rhasberry, and Fossil Amber.  I then applied water and the colors ran together and blended like watercolors.

I love the effect of the backed cut file now on the mixed media background.  It can seem a bit busy but I love this look for my scrapbook layouts.

The few clusters of stickers are included in the Echo Park collection and obviously match perfectly to the layout.  I used the last word "Summer" for part of the title and used an Amy Tangerine ombre phrase thicker for the other part of my title.

The photos are of Valentina and her first BookRoo subscription book box.  You can choose from Board Books, Picture and Chapter book boxes.  Use code TAINA557 for 50% off your first book box.  Each book is individually wrapped and its something your children can look forward to each month.  I love reading to Valentina in my lap in my glider.  Very special moment all the time.

Sunny Summer // Scrapbookingstore.com July 2018 Kit

Good afternoon my scrappy friends!  I am the guest designer for the Scrapbookingstore.com for the month of July.  They are a monthly scrapbooking subscription kit for $14 a month and you get a variety of products to create with.  This months kit features the Echo Park Summer Fun collection along with PL cards from Studio Calico and chipboard pieces from American Crafts.

The colors in this collection are very bright, colorful and perfect for documenting those summer photos from the beach and pool.  A great idea to feature multiple patterned papers from a collection is to make large title.  What better title for this collection and layout than 'Summer'.

Each letter was cut out of a different patterned paper for this lovely effect.  I decided on this soft washed grey wood grain patterned paper for my background.  I did not want to add mixed media to this layout, because it was coming together beautifully without it.

I then added a few stickers from the provided sheet and matted my photos.  I added fun foam behind one to elevate it from the page.  The chipboard pieces from American crafts worked as accent pieces for this layout as well.

My final touch to make my layout really pop, was adding Nuvo crystal drops around each letter.  The colors used were Caribbean Ocean, Carnation Pink and Rhubarb Crumble for a dimensional element to my layout.  I love the Nuvo drops all around the letters.  I will have to remember this technique and use it again in the future.

Love My Sister so much// Scrapbook Layout

Welcome back my scrapbooking friends!  I have been on a roll this week with scrapping from my stash.  I obviously have not been spending money on many supplies lately since becoming a new mom.  And I am currently not on any design teams in which I would be given new products to feature in my layouts.  I get the liberty to bust out some oldies but goodies I've purchased and hoarded this entire time.  For this layout, I was inspired by the lovely Paige Evans and a layout she did a year ago it seems.  But I am not featuring any of her products, this is all Amy Tangerine.

I first started out fussy cutting out all the florals from a patterned paper called Knot + Bow from the Better Together collection by Amy Tangerine.

I loved the contrast of this navy patterned paper called Explore from the Finders Keepers collection by Amy Tangerine.  All these beautiful papers just sitting in my crafty room.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the LOVE letters on white card stock and then took white embroidery thread and did a back stitch along the edge.  It added texture and detail to the layout.

I used two others Alpha Thickers from my stash as well to compete my title.  All were from collections from Amy Tangerine once again.

I embellished my layout with three white butterflies, a few buttons, rubber pieces and stickers from my stash on my desk.  Its time to use these beautiful products.

Thank you for stopping by and spending some time with me.  My process video is below to view.

Family Love// Scrapbook Layout

Hello Scrappy Friends!  I have a fun memorial day layout/ Forth of July layout for you.  I was inspired by the lovely Paige Evans recently and was inspired to create a red white and blue layout.  I cut out the star with my Silhouette Cameo and the cut file was Scalloped Stars with Star Nested ID # 57557.  I then used Red Apple inexpensive Appel Barrel acrylic paint to brush on some stripes.

I decided on a blue card stock background to create a very patriotic color scheme.  I did some paint splatters in red and white.

I was able to use both interlay size stars on this layout including the parts I cut off.  I love the bold look it gives the layout.

'Family Love' title is from an Amy Tangerine collection and the embellishments are all from my stash.  The flare is from Feed Your Craft, the clear acrylic stars are from Shimelle, the stickers from a Hobby Lobby sticker book and w sunglass wood veneer from my collection.

I finished off the details with Nuvo gold drops around the stars of the layout.  I love the little gold shine.  I have the process video below.  Thank you for stopping by.
