Happy Day// 12x12 Scrapbook Layout

Hello my scrapping ladies! I completed this gorgeous layout with a photo of Miguel and Valentina last year at Easter.  Time sure does fly by.

I started out with a large butterfly cut file from Paige Evans cut from light purple card stock.  I backed the cut file with patterned paper from the Jane Davenport paper collection, available at Michaels.  The paper already has mixed media markings and coloring so it worked perfectly for being backed for this cut file.

I had white card stock butterfly cut out already sitting on my desk from a layout I never did.  So, I decided to have them work as the embellishment for this layout by using some purple toned spray in my collection. I love the extra splatter marks and mixed media areas it added to this layout.

For added embellishments, I used butterfly epoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio.  I love this less dimensional flairs to my layout.  It does not add a lot of bulk to my layouts.

My photo is triple matted.  One pink glitter frame from Maggie Holmes, one card stock frame with tones of purple and a ruffled purple ribbon for the third layer.  The ribbon ruffle is my favorite element on this layout.  The ribbon just happen to be sitting on my craft desk and it worked perfectly when I was working on this layout.  It was serendipity.

Top 10 Layouts for 2019

Hello my scrappy friends! Thank you for visiting me once again.  I thought it would be fun to take a look at my favorite layouts for 2019.  I was able to scrap much more this year as a new mom to a 2 year old than I did that first year.  Its important to find time for self care and that is what scrapbooking is too me.  These are in no particular order, just my favorites for the year.

Love You// Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello Scrappin Ladies!  I simply love how this layout turned out.  It was a labor of love to fussy cut all the flowers from one patterned paper, but I wanted them all bunched together.  I used two patterned papers from the Maggie Holmes Willow Lane collection for this layout.

I cut up a the stripes up to arrange all along the bottom of the page to anchor the layout.  I was torn between two photos, I went with this photo of Zoe and Valentina together because it was a horizontal orientation.

Once I had my basic layout set, I could have left the white card stock alone and it would have been a beautiful layout.  But, you know me and my love for mixed media and playing with my art supplies... so that is what i did.

I did the 'packaging' technique with Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry and Marigold.  The pink and orange color compliment the flowers and the details in the stripes.

The title and dimensional stickers all came from the coordinating thicker pack for Willow Lane.

I then added a few of the gold embossed floral elements from the Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection.

This layout is feminine and floral and I love my two girls in the photo.  My process video is linked below for your viewing pleasure.  Thanks for stopping by.

Love// Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello Scrappy friends! I am finally finding time to scrap and I love it.  For this layout I am using a gorgeous floral patterned paper from a Jen Hadfield collection.  I have been hoarding this pretty paper for years or months.

I started by fuzzy cutting out all the florals.  This took the most time.  I then used my silhoute Cameo to cut one large circles out of white card stock.

I backed the circle with a pink and white striped paper from Teresa Collins, again a paper Ive hoarder forever.

To add some interest and details to the layout I used a butterfly stencil and some Light Modeling Paste from Golden.  The cork butterflies are from SpiegelMom Scraps.

I added Nuvo Crystal drops in Carnation Pink to outline the flowers once they were placed for the layout.

The large sequins title is from an old Crate Paper collection that was in my stash.

The photo is from my baby shower with my parents.  I have a few more from my baby shower I'd like to scrap.  But its great that I am getting started now.  Thank you for joining me.

Lovely// Scrapbook Layout with Cutfile

Hello ladies!  Thank you for joining me for another fun and bright scrapbook layout.  I wanted to use this beautiful cut file I was able to get from Paper Issues.  The file is free and is called Beautiful Bouquet.  I am using the August 2018 Scrapbookingstore.com scrapbook kit for this layout.

I decided to back the cut file with a red toned pattered paper in the collection along with 2 shades of green paper as well. Backing a cut file does take some detailed meticulous work.  But the outcome is well worth the effort.

Before I adhered the cut files to the yellow and white background paper I wanted to add a little more detail to my layout with some stencils and gold metallic paste.

I do have to invest in another cutting blade for my Silhouette Cameo.  I feel like its not cutting as nicely has it once did.  It was is not cutting with finesse and my cut file does look mangled up  close.

The photo I am scraping is of Valentina at 3 days old in the hospital.   There was a photographer that came around and took photos of your little ones while we were still in the hospital.

Beautiful// Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello Scrappy Friends!  Today I am playing with the August 2018 Scrapbooking kit from Scrapbookingstore.com.  Its a monthly subscription kit that is $14 a month and comes with tons of great product.  This month it features the Echo Park collection called 'On the Record', along with die cuts from American Crafts One Canoe collection and label stickers from Heidi Swapp.

I started off with the floral patterned paper and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the word 'Beautiful', a cut file from Paige Evans.  I then took the patterned paper called 'Lace Trim' and used the yellow side and cut the cut file once more slightly larger so that it looks like a boarder around the floral patterned paper.  I love the contrast with the two layers.

I did attempt to leave my layout simple and used white card stock only.  But, I was not in love with it at the moment so I gessoed my white card stock and used the 'packaging technique' and did a mixed media background.

I used my Distress Oxides inks by Ranger in Fossiled Amber, Cracked Pistachio and Abandoned Coral.  I let each color dry in between use.  I wanted little blending of colors.  I adhered my cut file and used a few white card stock sitting on my desk of roses as the embellishments on my layout.

I added a few black paint splatters, a few bundles of tangled thread and matted my layout on patterned paper from the collection.  I love this layout and the photo is of Valentina at 7 months old.

Cherish// Using your Project Life Cards

Hey there scrappy friends!  I am continuing to use my July 2018 Scrapbookingstore.com scrapbooking kit.  The kit had Project Life cards from Studio Calico, a collection called Goldie.  The American Crafts chipboard pieces worked perfectly with this colors in this collection.

I used 4 3x4 Project Life cards and cut them into 1.5 inch squares and this grid design.  I made sure the same patterns were not next to each other and it created a really nice focal element to the page.

I usually love adding texture and color to my backgrounds but this layout came together so easily without it and i loved the look of this layout.  The background card stock was from my stash and it matched perfectly with the shades of mint I was working with in this layout.

The chipboard mandala embellishments worked to add interest to the layout and I scattered them over the square grid with Scotch Tacky glue.

The large white title 'Cherish' is from an older Amy Tangerine collection from my stash.

I added a few splatters with my gold Color Shine by Heidi Swapp and Silver as well.

The photo is of the many faces Valentina gives me while the phone snaps her photo.
