Sun n Fun// SpiegelMom Scraps DT

Hello Scrapbook friends!! Have you ever completed a layout and absolutely loved how it turns out.  This is how I feel with this layout.  I had one small idea for the weaving pattern and then I found matching sequins from the Spiegelmom Scraps store and it just came to life.

The current summer collection from Simple Stories is Sunshine & Happiness is featured in this layout.  I have the 6x6 paper pad and cut half inch stripes.  I thought a diagonal weave pattern would be interesting.  This process took a lot of time.  I cut and altered paper the entire time for it to fit perfectly.

I wanted to highlight the colorful papers and added rows of matching sequins named Spring Blooms from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop.  I used Tomboy Mono liquid glue to adhere it since it dries clear.  The sequins brings the pattern to life.  I love the outcome of this work.

To complete my layout I matted the photo with papers from the 6x6 paper pad and used the ephemera, brads and tiny word stickers from the Simple Stories collection.  I always like adding bit of tangled thread for added interest to the layout.

My title is from last year's Poolside collection from Crate Paper.  The photo is of my sister and I on the beach from her recent trip to Florida in August.  I have tons of photos to scrap of this trip.  Here is my process video to see this layout come together.

Cherish// SpiegelMom Scraps DT

Hello creative friends!  I absolutely love the end result of this layout.  It is one of my favorites.  My initial idea was to simply bling some die cut butterflies, but the end result is beyond impressive.  I started off with butterflies from the Silhouette Design store using my Cameo.  I used Shimmerz mists, in Sweet Heart, Cotton Candy and Jenni B Bleu, to color them first.

The pink butterflies I adhered the Pinky Pie Pinks sequins and Wedding Bells on the blue colored butterflies.  I had to set these aside to dry while I worked on my next step.

I thoughts I would play with a new collection from Maggie Holmes or Paige Evans but I was not in love with them and my butterflies.  I decided to cut another cut file 12x12 floral lace background.  Initially I thought i was going to do some mixed media with it and suddenly as I laid it on my white card stock, I fell in love.  White on white it shall stay.

The photo I am scrapping is of my beautiful aunt and uncle the night they renewed their vows.  My in laws are Mexican and we love to keep all the traditions so the sombrero was a nice representation.  I layered a white and gold dollie from the shop behind my photo and used a tag to include my journalling.  My title "Cherish" is from the Fancy Free collection.

I gathered all the butterflies in a diagonal arrangement as if in flight.  I love this layout.  Process video is below for your viewing pleasure.

This is Us// Spiegelmom Scraps Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to our Sparklers Unit blog hop! The Sparklers are split into two teams; The Blog Squad and the YouTube Squad. Each month we come together to hang out here and bring you some great tips, technique and inspiration! For this hop, you should have arrived here from my favorite girl, Katty.  I love my IRL scrappy friends style in her layouts.  We are all apart of the SpiegelMom Scraps Design Team.

For is this bold and colorful layout I started out with a hexagon shaped punch and used white card stock to my first element of the page.  I then used a palette knife and scrapped on two tones of blues and two magenta tones in a random manner onto all the hexagons.  Once dried I applied the gorgeous sequin mix, Raspberry Daisy Dream, in similar colors to the hexagons with clear Tacky glue.

I first had them arranged on white card stock to begin my layout but thought it was too much white.  I also knew I did not want to add color to the background because I would loose the pop they already were.  So, I took out the Tim Holtz black and white printed tissue paper and adhered it down with gel medium.  Once dried I could add my hexagons and my lovely photo of me and my Doxie, Zoe.

I did not want to add to any other elements to the page so I simply chose my title from a  pack of thicker called Story.  This is Us worked well for this simple picture of me and Zoe together.  I did some light journaling and that completed this layout.
