Beach Life 4 Ever// Clique Kits DT

Hello scrappy friends!  I have a fun summer vibes layout for you using the August 2017 Clique Kit.  The kit features the Summer Lights collection from Pink Paislee.  I am also using the scalloped 12x12 cut file available on the Clique Kit site.  I am scrapping a few photos of us walking on the beach after we painted out baby nursery light pink.  I am 22 weeks pregnant in these photos with our first baby.

Our challenge for this layout was to create a title using multiple alphas.  I cut out 'Beach Life' from paper 10 of the collection, '4ever' are holographic alphas included in the kit, 'in' was from Bella Blvd and 'florida' was an AC pack of alphas from my stash.  Challenge complete.

I first started off with the cut file and used my Ranger Distress Inks in Straw, Maralade, Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen bough with a blending tool.  I matted the cut file with the back side of Paper 10 of the collection which had a yellow ombre to a mint green color.

I did some light journaling in one of the scallops and did a few embellishment clusters using the ephemera pack.  I also added the lovely sequins included in the kit this month for added details to the layout.   I love the summer vibe this layout has and living in Florida its an obvious feel.

Friends Forever// The Clique Kits Blog Hop

Welcome and thank you for hopping along our monthly blog hop for the month of June 2017.  The wonderful scrapbook kits this month featured the Cocoa Vanilla Wild at Heart collection.  This collection was simply gorgeous and I had a hard time cutting into some of these beautiful patterned papers.

I used 1 inch stripes of each patterned paper in the kit ( in order to hoard the rest) and cut into 1 inch squares.  Be patient while cutting your squares as this step took some time to complete.

I am scrapping a beautiful photo taken during my trip to New York for Easter weekend.  I am originally from there and my oldest friends still live up there as well.  I've been friends with this young lady since 5th grade and she is now a mother of two twin boys who are 18 months.  I printed the photo in black and white in order to not compete with my busy background.

Before adhering these 1 inch squares down I chose a light pink solid piece of card stock from my stash that matched the pink in the collection.  I added splatters to the background using Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Navy as well as Pink.  I also when in with Liquitex white ink as well.  These three colors are featured in the collection.

My T square ruler came in handy in placing all the squares down in close to perfect rows.  I skipped a box from time to time for added interest to the layout.  The Clique kit came with the entire die cut ephemera pack and I used as many bits and pieces around the focal point.  The canvas star was also included and I loved the added texture it added and then I just added layers of die cuts so that your eye can travel around the page.
Thank you so much for joining our blog hop today.

Love This Story// Clique Kits Blog Hop

Whats up Scrappy Peeps!!!  Welcome to the Clique Kits design team blog hop, introducing the new members.  Yours truly is thrilled to be included on this wonderful creative team.  I love the products that are included each month in the scrapbooking kits.  This month is also special because we have teamed up with Ashley Hortons's Cut Shoppe and get to play with cut files.  I hope you are enjoying all the inspiration along the way.  You have just hoped over from the very talented .  I have been a fan girl to her work for years.

I started off with the cut file called Flower Power from the Cut Shoppe.  I then grabbed Maggie Holmes Bloom collection from my stash.  I cut the corners off of Sun Lit and adhered it to the blue paper with white flowers.

I then used mists: Lindy Stamp Gang Mad Hatter Mint, Shimmerz Vibez in Egg Noggin and Sweet Heart.  I concentrated the color at the two opposite corners to lay over the added corners of paper.

I used my finalizer with Scotch Quick dry to adhere the cut file.  I then added my photo with photo corners and added my journaling with a slick writer pen.  I used stickers from the Shine collection by Maggie Holmes and chipboard elements from Dear Lizzy.

The title is from Dear Lizzy Seredipity collection and added a few gold heart sequins from the Spiegelmom Scraps store.  I love the pastel colors used in this layout and I love the cut file.  I am pleased with the outcome of this layout.  Next along the blog hop is Sheryl Banares.  If you'd like to make a purchase at the Clique Kits store use code Evi10 for a discount.  Thank you for joining me.

This is Us// Spiegelmom Scraps Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to our Sparklers Unit blog hop! The Sparklers are split into two teams; The Blog Squad and the YouTube Squad. Each month we come together to hang out here and bring you some great tips, technique and inspiration! For this hop, you should have arrived here from my favorite girl, Katty.  I love my IRL scrappy friends style in her layouts.  We are all apart of the SpiegelMom Scraps Design Team.

For is this bold and colorful layout I started out with a hexagon shaped punch and used white card stock to my first element of the page.  I then used a palette knife and scrapped on two tones of blues and two magenta tones in a random manner onto all the hexagons.  Once dried I applied the gorgeous sequin mix, Raspberry Daisy Dream, in similar colors to the hexagons with clear Tacky glue.

I first had them arranged on white card stock to begin my layout but thought it was too much white.  I also knew I did not want to add color to the background because I would loose the pop they already were.  So, I took out the Tim Holtz black and white printed tissue paper and adhered it down with gel medium.  Once dried I could add my hexagons and my lovely photo of me and my Doxie, Zoe.

I did not want to add to any other elements to the page so I simply chose my title from a  pack of thicker called Story.  This is Us worked well for this simple picture of me and Zoe together.  I did some light journaling and that completed this layout.

Thank you for spending your time with us today! I'd love for you be in the running for the $10.00 shop credit, so be sure to leave comments on all the blogs to be entered! You have through August 4th to comment and enter. Sharing on social media will also earn you an extra entry. Just leave another comment letting us know where you shared the blog hop event.
Now, you'll be heading over to Felicia blog. Enjoy the rest of the hop!!

Sun Kissed// Scrap Your Heart Out Blog Hop

I am so excited to celebrate National Scrapbook Day today.  I am participating in two YouTube hops this weekend.  This layout is inspired by the lovely Wilna, yet again.  I recently purchased Wilna's latest collection for May, with these gorgeous florals and butterfly illustrations.  My doxie, Zoe, recently turned 10 years old and I make a new floral collar every year to mark her birthday.  This year was huge yellow flowers.  The photo along with the floral die cut were perfect for a layout.

I gessoed my white card stock and added a light wash of yellow watercolors to half the page.  The other half of the page I added a pastel green gelato named Kiwi.  With a little water the two colors blended in the middle.  I used my Cameo and a design from Silhouette design store, for the large white die cut flowers that I backed the printable with.  I wanted the contrast from the background.

Once the large die pieces were attached with hot glue.  I found a few fabric florals from Prima with the same colors used in the layout.  The floral were also attached with some hot glue and an enamel dot in the center.  I added more color to the layout with the use of a butterfly from Wilna's collection as well.  I backed if with a white card stock butterfly and attached the smaller dot of hot glue in the center and bent up the wings for a 3D look.

I finished off the layout with some ink splatters, Squeezed Orange from Dylusions and Genesis Green from Daler and Rowney.  My 36 pan watercolor set was used to add the addition pops of color hash marks around my embellishments.  The title is from a thicker pack from the Poolside collection from Crate Paper.  I finished the layout with journaling on the photo with a Zig Vellum writer.  I have my process video down below to watch it all come together.

Love// Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello lovely ladies!  Thank you for stopping by on this fun, monthly blog hop.  I always enjoy being apart of it.  I enjoy viewing how others use the contents of the kit each month.  I know it inspires me.  For today's layout I wanted to definitely use the exclusive patterned papers and I couldn't deicide which one, so I used both.  If you are interested in the kit, go to Clique Kits site and enroll.
I did 3-4 inches strips of each 12x12 and alternated the placement.  I did enjoy the opposite side of one that said Blah Blah and made them into corner pieces.  It is a bit busy, but at least the colors are pastel.  I then take my Prima Marketing stencil called Doily #2 and some heavy gloss gel for the impression.  I used the gel like I would if it were modeling paste.  It works the same except this dries to a glossy finish and it adhere glitter to it really well.  So before it dries I added the gold glitter to really have it pop with all the detail.
I then apply white gesso to the center area so that I can apply more mix media.  I add Color Shine in pink and Distress stain in cracked pistachio with the packaging technique.  I also add a few splatters with both colors as well.  The ephemera on the layout is also exclusive to the kit this month.  Clique kits joined Pink Fresh Studio and made an ephemera pack that coordinates well with the kit.  The colors of this month are more on the pastel side but it also featured the Goldie collection from Studio Calico.

The wood veneer is from the Hello Love collection and I used black ink to color it.  The flair button also exclusive to the kit is sitting on a bed of black tangled thread.  I add a bit of journaling to the layout to finish it off.

Here are the rest of your stops for the blog hop.  Thank you for stopping by.

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: My Favorite Helper

Hello fellow scrapbookers.  Thank you as always for stopping by for our monthly blog hop featuring this months Clique Kit named Cave Girl.  This month we are using the collection by Pink Paislee "Memorandeum".  I have loved all the creativity this blog hop provides.  I enjoy the hop myself and become inspired by others who have also purchased the kit.

I am the proud new owner of a Silhoutte Cameo and decided to take advantage of the free cut file available this month and loved this paper clip background.  I had thought about cutting it out on black card stock and decided to still do it with white, because you know I'm going to want to color it up and do some mixed media work with it on my own.  Its not a layout of mine, lately, without mixed media added to the mix.  I will be doing another one here soon using the quote cut file as well.

I used Dina Wakley Gel Medium from Ranger to adhere the intricate background to the patterned paper Time Clock from the collection.  The kit this month came with the collections acetate cut apart page as well.  I am scrapping a picture of my rescue moxie Kobe on my craft room desk amongst my pictures, patterned paper, pens and brushes so the pencil image was perfect.  I backed it with the white card stock to keep it sturdy.

I matted my photo with white tissue paper and then used the card stock cut apart to add another layer.  The few empherma pieces used were all cut out of the same paper.  In order to jazz up my layout some more, I needed to add mixed media.  I decided on a few blue brush strokes along the edge would be just enough.  I used cobalt blue, Caribbean  and Ocean breeze from Apple Barrel were perfect. The word 'favorite' in my title is from the kit as well has the colorful alphas from Bella Blvd.  I finished off the layout with some tangled thread, washi tape accents and journaling along the edges.

Its a bright and cheerful layout and I hope you have enjoyed the close up photos.  I did film a process video:

Thank you for stopping by.  Here is the list of the other blogs to hop on over too.

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: Wild & Free

Good Morning, afternoon or evening, depending when you are stopping by.  Thank you so much for visiting my blog for this month's blog hop with the Clique Kits.  I have enjoyed participating this event each month for the last 6 months.  I love visiting everyones creations as well.  This month's kit features the We R Memory Keepers 'Wildflowers' Collection.  The rich jewel tone colors in this collection are simply gorgeous.
I started by cutting apart the cut apart sheet named Flea Market.   The twine linking all the tags together was in the kit.  I love the texture it adds to the layout.  The amber colored background patterned paper is Wildflower.  I layered Road Trip behind my photo.
I always love adding a bit of mixed media to each of my layouts.  I start off with adding white gesso to the center of the layout.  I use the packaging technique to apply Distress Paint in Bronze to the layout along with Tattered Angles shimmer mist in Apricot Jelly.  I then mix modeling paste and the Bronze Distress Paint together and apply if with a palette knife and a Prima Marking stencil named Petite Floral.  I keep my mixed media to the center of the page.  I add my journalling another card from the sheet.  The stickers on the layout are also from the collection.  I add some washi tape from Jen Hadfields DIY home and finish the layout with Navy and Gold Color Shine from Heidi Swapp.
I've provided my process video for your viewing pleasure.

The layout has rich fall colors and I love it.   I appreciate you stopping by and I've provided the list to continue on with the blog hop.

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: A day in Paradise

Hello my Clique Kit friends.  Thank you so much for stopping by to see my new layout using the August "Ambrosia" Clique Kit.  This kit has been one of my favorites due to the color scheme it embraces.  I have enjoyed using the featured Citrus Bliss Collection from Pink Paislee.  The pictures I used are of me and my doxie Zoe at the local soccer fields.  She loves to run freely off her leash when we are there.  The dress I am wearing is what inspired me and this month's kit went perfectly with these colors too.  I started off with using white card stock and my new Lindsay Stamp Gang Mists in Pop Rock Purple, Merry go round green and Rasberry Lemonade.  I used the "packaging" technique that so many of us use.  (In case you are unaware... grab plastic packaging from the stickers, or alphas and add the mists straight to it.  Then gently apply the plastic packaging with the liquid medium onto the cardstock and it creates this lovely watercolor wash without too much extra water to add.  I have a process video linked at the bottom, if you care to see this process in action).  I started with the green and let it dry and proceeded to the pink and then purple.  I made sure they were dry between applying them to make sure the colors did not mix and make brown on my page.  I also added a light layer or splatters using my Genesis Green Liquid acrylic paints from Daler.
The Flamingo acetate sheet that overlays the background is from the August paper add on.  The same affect can be achieved it the vellum sheet in the kit with the gold foil pineapples.  I am using that one on an upcoming layout.  The mint green "paradise" word was an exclusive piece in the kit this month, and I thought it went perfectly with this layout.
Clique kit included exclusive flair buttons and PL cards with the fruit images.  As you can see, I cut out all the fruit images and used them as die cuts.  The pear, pineapple, orange and watermelon slice are the ones I am referring too.  The colors worked well with my approach to the layout.  The yellow brad was apart of the Citrus Bliss collection as well with the kit.
The patterned papers are all from the Pink Paislee collection.  The last details are the tiny word stickers from Amy Tangerine Rise and Shine Collection that were from another kit.  I have been loving adding a bit of gold touches to my layouts with gold thread.  It almost reminds me of tinsel but I add it behind the matted photos in a few areas.  I need to add some journaling so I added a white tag behind a picture.  I used the Little B gold pineapple washi tape and added more Lindsay Stamp Gang Mist in Raspberry Lemonade to it and more gold thread to pull it out.  A nice hidden section of journaling for the page.  I matted the entire layout on yellow grid paper from the Heidi Swapp, Serendipity Collection, to add a touch more of yellow to the layout.
I love making process videos for your viewing please.  Take a moment to watch the packaging technique or any other tips on how to achieve this layout look.  If you want to subscribe to my YouTube Channel, watch it at 'Life with Evi'.
As always thank you for stopping by on this hop.  Here is the list to help you navigate.
