Florida Vacations// The Ink Road DT

Hello lovely ladies.  Today's layout is for The Ink Road.  I had so much fun playing with the Summer Vibes collection from Simple Stories last week, that I had to use the collection again.  I did a wonderful weaving layout last week and this week I thought I would do many many layers of paper.  I am scrapping a picture of my sister when she visited Florida this year.
So I first started out with doing a light wash of yellow watercolors and let it dried.  Once I dried,  I added some Dazzler's from Shimmerz Paints in Coral Me with a stencil of bubbles from Dylusions.  The Dazzlers takes awhile to dry.  Once it is dried it has a beautiful shimmer to it .
I have the entire kit from Simple Stories and it includes alphas and stickers that coordinates with the paper collection.  I cut all the papers up into manageable pieces and just started layering and tucking pieces behind the photo.  The layers got thick and its like a little mound of paper but it shows off the collection.  The 'vacation' thicker is from the Poolside collection from last year.  I put it on some foam to have it raised off the page.
The tiny word sticker craze is still going.  I used a majority of the tiny phrases with the sticker sheet.  I did not want to use the stickers with different icons as it would have distracted from the focal point of the layout.  I added some tangled thread at opposite corners and matted the layout on a sunset patterned paper from the kit.  If you want to get ahold of the Summer Vibes collection visit The Ink Road and use 'Evi10' at checkout for a discount on your purchase.  Happy scrapping.

Summer Sunsets// The Ink Road

Hello crafty friends! I have a colorful summer themed layout today for The Ink Road DT.  I am playing with the Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection available on the website for purchase.  I am scrapping a few photos taken during a sunset in Sarasota during my sisters visit from NY.  My sister, my mom and me are in one and my sister's fiancé and my fiancé are in the other picture.

I was thinking of a way to showcase all the pretty patterned papers featured in this collection and this basket weave came to mind.   I did this technique once a long time ago and wanted to recreate it with this collection.  Having the weaving element go in a diagonal was a way to change it up.  So I started by cutting up multiple stripes of paper in different width from many papers in the collection.  I then began to arrange them in a weaving pattern.
I began by adhering the centers of the horizontal row leaving the ends loose.  It made the process of interlocking the rest at each end easier.  When I was happy with the weave I applied Scotch quick dry glue with a Finalizer to secure its position.
Most Simple Stories Collection kits come with two 12x12 stickers sheets, one with an array of stickers and the other with alphas.  I used a combination for my title and little added extras around the photos.  Since the interlocking papers were the main element for this layout, I did not want to add too many embellishments.  I added a little bit of journalling to finish off the layout.

Best Day Ever// The Ink Road

Today's layout is for The Ink Road.  I have all these wonderful pictures from my Abuelita's 86th birthday party from last weekend.  I just love family gatherings.  I also have been loving printing my photos in black and white so that I do not have any restrictions on what I do with my layout because it will not compete.  I started this layout by cutting out the florals in the Floral Tapestry paper from the Jen Hadfield Cottage Living collection.  I even cut out the tiny yellow flowers from the paper as well.  The colors for this layout are the corals, mints, a pop of yellow and gray.

I was going to use a gray patterned paper from the same collection but I wanted the gray to be more subtle, so I used the Let's Party patterned paper from the Fine and Dandy Collection by Dear Lizzy.

Rounded Trellis was used in a horizontal formation with Dotted Blossoms for the second layering piece. I matted my photo with the coral one again.

My title is a wood veneer from the Hello Love collection and I first primed it with gesso to give it a base coat because I knew I wanted to also paint it coral.  I first tried Distress stain in Abandoned Coral, but it dried too light.  I then applied the same color as Ink and this time I loved the color pay off.   To tie in the floral paper again in the layout I cut two thin strips and adhered them to the top and bottom of the layout to ground it.

No layout for me is complete without some mixed media.  So I gessoed the edges of the coral and mint paper and blurred out the edges.  I went in with the "packaging" technique and did a light wash of Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio Distress Strays to add a messy look to the layout.  I did not go that crazy with the mixed media but added enough for the effect of it.  The final result is lovely.  I shared my layout with my family and everyone loved it.

Captured// The Ink Road

Hello friends! I have a layout for The Ink Road today.  I am loving the new Maggie Holmes Bloom collection available on the website.  The Bloom collection is just beautiful with its florals and pastel color palette.  I am scrapping a cute photo of my two doxies Kobe and Zoe looking in exact opposite directions of each other.  They are hilarious when I want to snap a photo.  They look every where but mommy!
I started out with the white patterned paper with the black swans on it called Adore.  I applied white gesso and used my Lindy Stamp Gang mist in Raspberry Lemonade with the packaging technique.   I then used the cut apart sheet in the collection called Sweet Rose and used Dina Wakley gel medium to collage all the ephemera to the horizontal center of the page.
A heart stencil was then used with heavy gloss gel and I sprinkled light pink iridescent glitter over top of it to achieve a really lovely effect.  I did let that dry for some time before I continued on.  The stack of multi colored dollies are from my stash, the mint and pink ribbon and the pink glitter "cutie" sticker from Heidi Swapp.
I then completed the layout with stickers from the 6x12 sheet from the MH Shine collection also with the phrase thickers for my title.  I still have a few chipboard pieces from the Hello Love collection.  I finished it off with some black ink splatters and light journalling.  If you want to make a purchase of any of these supplies use code 'Evi10' at checkout.  Here is my process video for your viewing pleasure.

Cute Trick// The Ink Road

Hello lovely ladies!  My fur babies are always up to tricks for treats.  And as you can see, we are in my craft room based on the messy floor area.  Zoe is on the left and my Kobe is on the right.  I may have been eating something to encourage their hind leg trick.  For this layout, I started out with Nicole from the Rise and Shine collection from Amy Tangerine as my background paper.  I started out cutting into Lucy, the patterned paper with the chevron and using the opposite side for my layers.
I needed to include some mix media to my layout, so I gessoed the center of my layout to prime.  I did the classic "packaging" technique to add some Distress paint in Cracked Pistachio and Color Shine in Butter.  I then added some more fun by applying Metallic pastes from Heidi Swapp in raspberry and gold with a mini chevron stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.
I then had fun combining a few collections of ephemera.  The yellow 'cute' is from the Wonder collection from Crate Paper.  I then used the green alphas from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection for the contrast.  I was able to add a few fun chipboard hearts from the Hello Love collection along with the gold resin heart.
A few added details like the yellow crepe 3d sticker is from the Shine collection along with the puffy stickers.  I matted the photo on a piece of black and white striped paper and some vellum.  The stamping along the edges are done with Staz-on black ink and the Lora Bailora stamp set called Love.  Light pink splatters are from the Heidi Swapp color shine collection and some light journaling too. I've included my process video here.

Hello Love// The Ink Road

Hello friends!  I have been on a real pink kick lately.  What can I say, its one of my favorite colors.  Just doing a cute quick selfie moment with one of my doxies, Zoe.  She is going to be 10 years old this year, I cannot believe it.  Time flies when you are having fun.  Anyways, lets get into the lovely layout.  I started out by fussy cutting out this stripes with the houses called Charming Charade from the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy collection found at The Ink Road.

I wanted to have layered look with 2 others papers from the collection.  The gold foiled words on the pink paper is called Fabulous Fun and the soft pink bows paper is Bright Bows.
I added details to the layout with ephemera from Hello Love and from the Shine collection.  To had more interest to the photo, i first matted it with the left over vellum from last weeks layout called Hooray and then layers multiple un used planner pages for the stacked paper look.
I always have to do a bit of mix media/ art supply fun to a layout and for this one I used the macaroon gelato to add the soft focus pink around the photo.  I smudged if with a dabber that comes with the set.  I also smudged more gelato on the wood veneer to make my title "Hello Love".
I finish off most of my layouts with black ink splatters and a roller date stamp.  I loved the way this layout turned out.  Here is my process video to watch how it came together.

Happy Day Together// The Ink Road DT

Good day lovely ladies!  Today's layout if for The Ink Road and it features items found in the shop.  I was creative and used 3 different paper collections for a unique look.  When you have all these pretty supplies to use, you basically want to use them all on one layout.  This layout features Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy, Crate Paper Wonder and Maggie Holmes Shine collections.  The photo I am scrapping is from my Valentine's Day to Disney world here in Florida.  Believe it or not, it was my first trip to this theme park.

I knew I wanted to start off with the gorgeous vellum sheet from Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy.  I am a sucker for anything gold foiled.  I did not want to block any of the pretty numbers so I utilized it for the upper third of my layout to shine on its own.  I then had a few of the lovely patterned papers from the Crate Paper Wonder collection, so I took stripes from each to show them off.  I used Dream and Wonderful for this layout.

No layout is complete for me without some texture or mixed media.  So I added some modeling paste mixed with a teal color paint and used a checkered stencils to the bottom of the layout for some interest.  I liked the geometric pattern as well due to the paper patterns.

The embellishment cluster around the photo and to the left of it is Maggie Holmes Shine collection ephemera pack.  For the title I used a few different elements.  The word "Happy" is from the Wonder Collection, the green alphas are from the Shine collection and the "together" is from the ephemera pack from Shine as well.  The chipboard is also from the Wonder collections, so I loved the bunting circle banner under the photo and the heart above the photo.  And the tucked gold dollie is from my stash.  I will finish off this layout with some journaling and some black ink splatters.  If you are interested in any of the products mentioned and want to make a purchase at The Ink Road, use code Evi10 for 10% off your purchase.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  Here is the link to my process video.

Sister Bonding// The Ink Road

Hello lovely scrappers! What is a better way to represent your love for your sister than a sisterly layout using the beautiful Crate Paper 'Hello Love' collection for The Ink Road.   This collection is one of my favorites.  I have such a hard time cutting into my 12x12 sheets of patterned paper because I think they are all too pretty to cut.  I know I am not the only one who feels like this.  Lol.  I started out doing the packaging technique to a few pink mists from my collection like Delusion Bubblegum pink, Color Shine in Pink and Lindy Stamp Gang mists in Hottie Pattoie Hot Pink, Magenta Marigold, Raspberry Lemonade.  I also added splatters with these colors.
I started creating layers with hot pink tissue paper and made it into a ruffle edge.  I used "Lots of Love" and "Sweetly" for the extra strips to create more layers for the left side of the layout.  My word "Love" that is apart of my title is from the chipboard sheet from the Hello Love collection, along with the lovely floral and heart tassel on the layout.  The alphas are 'Desktop" font from American Crafts.

I am scrapping three photos of my sister and I during her visit when we wore our matching PJs I picked up for us.  Two are black and white and one is in color.  It was a non stop night of laughing.  I finished off the details of the layout with stickers from the Hello Collection and die cuts.  I loved adding tiny word stickers from the Carpe Diem collection as well.
It was a fun layout to put together and loved reminiscing about our fun evening together acting like kids again.  Here is the process video for this layout:

2 Happy Doxies// THE INK ROAD

Hello my scrappy friends.  I have my second layout for The Ink Road.  I wanted to use some older products for this layout.  I did not get to previously play with the Confetti line by Crate Paper and Lara was kind enough to provide me with some products to play with.  I am scrapping a few pictures of my two wonderful doxies.  I have been on a roll with multiple photo layouts so I am keeping the merriment going.

I had an idea to use these wood veneer hoops from the Confetti Crate Paper collection.  The pack comes with three different sizes and I choose 2 of them.  I sometimes dislike the raw wood look, so I thought I would jazz them up with gold embossing powders with Versa Mark Ink.  I wanted to make my own dies, so I used black card stock and the Lora Bailora Stamp set called Love and heat embossed those as well. I then added some gold metallic gelato to a few black card stock circles as well for added gold elements for the layout.

I then flipped through the Confetti ephemera pack from Crate paper as well for the embellishment cluster on the right.  I also used the Maggie Holmes Floral Dies from the collection to make more of the lovely flowers in the set.  I used another patterned paper from the collection and utilized both sides to make the florals.  The word "happy" is from the acetate sheet for the Crate Paper Journeys collection and the alphas are from my stash.  I love adding tangled gold thread to layouts lately as well.

OMG! I realized I photographed my layout with a missing "I" from the word Doxies.  It must have fallen off when I carried it to be photographed outside.

Smile Today// The Ink Road

Hello my scrapbook friends.  I have my first layout designing for The Ink Road.  I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity.  For my first layout I want to keep it fun and colorful which is my style.  The photo is of my sister and I on her trip to Florida earlier this month.  I took her straight for brunch on the beach in Fort Lauderdale.  It was a little chilly but it does not stop us from taking a few selfies.

I started out with cutting out all the banners with positive affirmations on the Celebrate patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy collection.  I started off with just ten and I thought it looks too simple, so I cut twenty more.  I then layered the acetate speciality paper from the collection called Dazzling over Cheerful Chatter and the layers looked fantastic over one another.

The layers give this layout plenty of character.  I used the branding stripes from both sheets, the hearts along the bottom of the layout and the orange circle along the photo.  The tag I made myself from the backside of Celebrate and did my journaling on it.   For the title, I used the phrase wood veneer from the Crate Paper Wonder collection.  I heat embossed it with Pink Party from Recollection.  The rest of the ephemera is from Amy Tangerine in my stash.

The last details of the gold resin heart is from the Crate Paper Hello Love collection, and the pink twine on the tag finish off the layout.  Below I have provided the process video to watch how this layout came together.  If you want to make a purchase at theinkroad.com, use coupon code Evi10 for 10% off your purchase.
