Family// Scrapbook Layout

Hello scrappy ladies!  Welcome back to my little corner of the internet.  Sorry I have been missing.  I am officially a full time working mom to an almost 2 year old and life is busy.  I'm sure many can relate to me.  Finding time to scrap these days is hard.  After work, I try to take Valentina to the park to release some energy, I cook when we get home, then its bath time, story time and bed time.  Afterwards, I shower the day away and veg out for an hour before I'm sleeping.  Then on the weekends, its filled with park, museums, birthday parties, family gatherings, swimming and chores.  So my scrapping is minimal lately due to time.

But, I was able to get some time this weekend to do this lovely layout.  Love how it turned out using a cut file from Paige Evans and sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps.

I cut the file on a rose colored solid card stock from my stash and found sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps that matched accordingly.  I love all the details this cut file provides.  I detailed the cut file with the sequins.  This part took some time,  please do not rush this part.  The payoff is worth it.

I am scrapping a photo of my family at a wedding we attending in Chicago.  It was first time there and I am in love with Chicago.  Valentina was one of the flower girls in the wedding.  She was nine months at the time.

To embellish the rest of the layout, I turned to my collection of florals from Maggie Holmes that live on my desk.

For more detail to my layout, I added Nuvo gel dots in gold, raspberry and iridescent glitter.  These added details allow to see all the details of the cut file.

For my title, I simply choose 'Family' in a gold metallic finish beside my photo.  Love how this layout turned out.

Beautiful Ordinary Life// Scrapbook Layout

Hello my beautiful scrapping ladies!  I have been so busy lately with work, I barely have time to do anything.  I know I have other working mommies out there, that can understand my situation.  Then, when the weekends come around I want to take my almost 2 year old daughter to the park to play, to the pool to swim, to the zoo, to see grandma, to run errands and there are just so many hours in the day.  It does not leave all the time in the world to scrapbook, at least for me, at this chapter in my life.  But I am able to stay current with my Project Life album.  That is my simple memory keeping journey.  Having time for my elaborate detailed 12x12 layouts has decreased.

But, I did get some scrappy time this weekend and created this lovely layout.  A photo of my sister and my mom before we went to the Jennifer Lopez concert in Miami.  OMG! What an incredible show she put on for us fans.  Loved the entire performance.  We wore all black and white to the event.

I used this layered heart die cut from Big Picture Classes.  It actually came with 10 layers but I only used 3.  I went with two tones of coral and a rose gold glitter speciality paper I had in my stash.

I pulled all coral embellishments from my stash for this layout and layered them around my photo.  In order to have more black elements I used thicker from my stash as well.

A label was used to save the date of this awesome concert and a few gunmetal colored splatters for a few more darker elements to the page.

Thank you for joining me.  Below I have linked my process video.  You can see the entire layout come together.

Love,
Evi

Splish Splash//SpiegelMom Scraps DT

Hello Scrapy Ladies! I have a fun under the sea layout for you. The sequin used for the water bubbles was Walk in the Park sequin pack from the Spiegelmom Scraps shop. I loved the green glitter sequin and the iridescent aqua pieces as well.  I am using my August kit from Scrapbookingstore.com for my papers and embellishments.

I started with a Paige Evans cut file using my Silhouette Cameo. I love the under the sea fish tangled together by strands of bubbles. It is just so darling. The patterned paper I used was blue and white and when I laid it down on white card stock it disappeared a little.

To add some contrast to the background I brushed on Vicki Boutin Iridescent glaze with a palette knife. I then did splatters in three different tones of blue.

To kick it up a bit, I added neon apple green splatters as well. Once it was all glued down and my photo of my sister, Valentina and I in the pool.

Splish splash is my title of blue and green colors and then I added Walk in the Park randomly around the layout. An easy mixed media layout. If you’d like to make a purchase at the Spiegelmom Scraps shop, use code Evi15.

Good Times// ScrapbookingStore.com Design Team

Hello scrapping ladies!  Its been a busy summer at the office and I have not found a lot of time to scrap at night.  But, I did find time to complete this summery layout this past weekend.  I am using the July scrapbooking kit from Scrapbookingstore.com.  I am part of their design team and love playing with their products.

The kit features the Paradise Escape collection from BoBunny and I absolutely love the colors in this collection.  Its pastel and summery.  I first used a TCW stencil called Bursting Jewels with 3D gel from Finnabar and sprinkled iridescent glitter on top while it was still wet.  Let that part dry fully before moving on.

The effect this gave the background is amazing.  I love the texture, the sparkle and it twinkles in the light.  A real lovely effect, if you dare to give it a try.

I used a 2 inch circle punch to cut from 6 different patterned papers.  I tried to use mostly the blue patterned papers to have them all match.  I am still scraping photos from my Mothers Day Photo Shoot and my dress is also blue so it all corresponded.

Then it is time to embellish the circles.  I used the empherma pack from the collection and stickers from a Jen Hadfield collection that were also included in the kit.  Each circle received at least two pieces of embellishments.  I used alpha from my stash for the small titles across a few of the circles.  I have linked my process video below for your viewing pleasure.  Thanks for spending some time with me.

Hello Scrappy Sparklers! I have a beautiful layout to share with you today using the Peaches n Cream sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps shop. To outline this Paige Evan's cut file took some time. I did it in sections while playing with Valentina over the weekend. I choose to a peach colored card stock to use for the cut file to match the sequins in this pack.

I alternated the sequin from the pack so two of the same color were never next to each other. This sequin pack had cream, peach, iridescent white, iridescent pink and an occasional aqua colored sequin.

For my added embellishments I went through florals from Maggie Holmes and Paige Evans collections along with epoxy stickers from the blush collection from My Minds Eye. I kept in mind to choose flowers all with the peach coloring to compliment the rest of the layout.

The photos I am scrapping are from my Mothers Day photoshoot. I had a friend capture some very special little moments with Valentina. I simply love them all.

Once a majority of the layout was complete I then wanted to add more details to this gorgeous dollie cut file. So, I added gold Nuvo drops in the areas that did not have sequins. I love this last detail element to the layout. It makes it special.

This layout was a slow process to the details and its simply lovely. I hope you were inspired.

Sweet// SpiegelMom Scraps Guest Designer

Hello my scrappy friends! Scrapbooking is so therapeutic for me. Is it for you? I can have a crazy day, but if i can be given an hour to scrap, it all eases away. For this colorful layout I used the Rainbow Bright pack around the edge of all the butterflies. The cut file is from Confessions of a Paper addict.

Once I had my cut file backed with colorful paper from the Horizon collection by Paige Evans, I began my mixed media work. I protected the inside portion and did paint splatters around the edges with Distress Oxides Sprays in raspberry, marigold, mermaid lagoon, wilted violet and cracked Pistachio.

Once the splatters were dried I then used a paint brush and liquid glue to adhere the Rainbow Bright sequin to the layout boarder. This process took some time to get just right.

I used the same colors for the splatters to color in this ephemera pieces from a Heidi Swapp pack that has resist elements on them.  So I was able to have them match perfectly with the rest of the layout.

The picture I am scrapping is of Valentina at her first Easter Egg hunt this year. We only got a few eggs but she was so cute in her little dress and ears.

My title is from a Maggie Holmes collection in gold metallic script.  It was so sweet and perfect for this colorful layout.  Thank you as always for joining me. Till next time.

Hello Scrappy Ladies! I have a fun black and white layout with a pop of color layout for today. I am using Funky New Year for the details to this layout and it compliments this layout perfectly.

I started out with using my Silhouette Cameo to cut out nested stars on black and white chevron patterned paper. I decided to use coral colored card stock, but I also auditioned turquoise, aqua and hot pink. The coral I just liked a bit more.

When I used all the stars with patterned paper, it was hard on the eyes, so I flipped some of the stars to show the solid white paper in the back and that helped settle the eyes a bit.

I book ended the layout with strips of the black and white paper on the left and right side. My photo is of a funny face Valentina made while at the park recently. Love all the faces of Valentina. I matted the photo on black paper and left the 90 degree corners. I have been using the corner rounder lately but with the stars I left them be.

Funky New Year was the sequin pack that worked perfectly with this layout. My added details were adding clusters of these sequins together all around the layout. A small pop of color was added with the title and a few other star elements from this thicker pack.

Love You// Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello Scrappin Ladies!  I simply love how this layout turned out.  It was a labor of love to fussy cut all the flowers from one patterned paper, but I wanted them all bunched together.  I used two patterned papers from the Maggie Holmes Willow Lane collection for this layout.

I cut up a the stripes up to arrange all along the bottom of the page to anchor the layout.  I was torn between two photos, I went with this photo of Zoe and Valentina together because it was a horizontal orientation.

Once I had my basic layout set, I could have left the white card stock alone and it would have been a beautiful layout.  But, you know me and my love for mixed media and playing with my art supplies... so that is what i did.

I did the 'packaging' technique with Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry and Marigold.  The pink and orange color compliment the flowers and the details in the stripes.

The title and dimensional stickers all came from the coordinating thicker pack for Willow Lane.

I then added a few of the gold embossed floral elements from the Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection.

This layout is feminine and floral and I love my two girls in the photo.  My process video is linked below for your viewing pleasure.  Thanks for stopping by.
