Hello//The Ink Road

Hello crafty ladies!  My layout today is for The Ink Road.  I am using the Kaiser Crafts My Year, My Story collection.  The collection kit comes with two sheets of each patterned paper along with a 12x12 sticker sheet.  This collection is unique, it seems geared towards pocket page scrapbooking because all the papers are cut aparts.  Each paper is also monochromatic, so naturally I gravitate towards pinks.
I started off with the Rhasberry sheet and up it apart and adhered it towards in the middle.  I added clear gesso to provide some grit to my page for some mists.  I used Shimmerz mists in Cotton Candy and Sweet Heart with the packaging technique.  Once that part dried, I then did some stenciling with Dazzlers texture paste in Pucker up Pink and the Pixelated stencil from Americana.
I allowed all these mediums to dry before continuing on.  I matted my photo of my mom and me backstage with the dancers from Kinky boots.  The doodle like ephemera is also from the My Year, my Story die cut pack.
To add a bit more interest to the layout, I hot glued hot pink ribbon and a sheer pink one vertically to the page.  It simply added more pink and texture to the layout.  I did some light journaling and some India ink splatters to finish the layout.  It came together rather easy when you stick to one color.

Young Wild Free// Kaiser Crafts

Hello crafty friends!  I have had the pleasure to play with new products from Kaiser Crafts because I am applying for their design team.  I submitted my layout you saw early last week.  But I could not just make one with all of these fantastic products, I have made 4.  So here are my honorable mentions.
This layout began using the 'Feathers' stencil on a piece of 12x12 cork.  Its an element featured in the Boho Dreams collection.  I used modeling paste and colored it with Kaiser Mists in Denim and Peach.  While the modeling paste is still wet, I sprinkle teal and opal loose extra fine glitter and set aside to dry.  I did this process twice to have two large feather die cuts for this layout.  I slowly cut each one out.  When I was deciding on a composition, I added an additional feather to the top right corner with mist and glitter again.  I am loving this technique.
I could not decide between two patterned pieces of paper so I used both.  The denim paper is called Free and the coral side is called Young.  I cut the denim one on an off diagonal and covered the seam with clear gesso from Liquidtex.  Gesso primed the paper for more mix media.  I used the Peach Kaiser Mist again and the 'packaging' technique to randomly apply more color.  I also added white splatters with the White Kaiser mist.
I wanted more ephemera elements, so I cut a few tags out from other patterned papers from the collections with some twine from my stash.  My title and tiny word stickers are from the 12x12 sticker sheets from the collection kit.   I finished off the layout with a bicycle wood veneer from Studio Calico.
I have linked my process video below so that you can view my layout come together.

2016/17 Kaiser Craft Design Team Application// Hello Adventure

Hello my crafty friends!  I have been given the opportunity to try out for the Kaiser Craft design team.  I was thrilled to receive the invite and participate in Round 2.  Kaiser Craft graciously sent new products to design with and showcase one's work.  The collection is called 'Boho Dreams' and its beautiful with denim blues and lovely corals.  The collections also includes cork elements and corrugated kraft card stock.
I began this layout with the black and white feather printed patterned paper called Feathers.  I wanted to simply use a 6 inch strip for the center of my white card stock.  My favorite technique lately, is using soft gel with stencils and then applying glitter while it is still wet.  I did this technique here using the Feathers stencil from the collection.  I used blue, teal and gold loose glitter to achieve this effect.  Allow ample drying time for the gel to set.
Once dried, I wanted to utilize the denim and peach Kaiser Mists for the collection.  I love using the 'packaging' technique but decided to used a one inch flat watercolor brush and did a light wash with the mist poured out into a palette well.  I added water when needed to have the color blend more and fade out.  I also used the mists and colored in the feathers on the patterned paper.
I am scrapping a photo of my male doxie, Kobe, in an oversized blue bow tie.  The photo was taken when I first rescued him and I thought the color of the bow would work well with the colors in this collection, so I printed it in color.  I matted the photo on white tissue paper, kraft paper and then a coral paper from the collection to have the photo stand out.  I selected a few pieces from the ephemera pack to add more interest to the layout.
The collection featured cork pieces, and I happen to have these word stickers in cork sitting on my desk.  I believe these were from the Journey's collection from Crate Paper.  These two words made the perfect title for my layout.  Its been an adventure adding a new member to the family and he is a spunky spirited doxie that gets into some trouble around the house.  For added detail, I added the stamped arrow from the stamp set in the 'Boho Dreams' set.  The stamp set comes with a few sentiments as well.  I have linked my process video for this layout so you can see it all come together.
