December Daily 2019: Day 15-31

Lets continue on to share the completed pages from my December Daily 2019.  I kept the page simple for day 15, my sister and I love Snapchat filters and always do them before she leaves.  The holidays are no exception, and the holiday filters make our photos even more cheerful.  Day 16 is tucked into this pink envelop, all about a cute holiday event at the local chocolate factory that Valentina slept through in her stroller.  I even have the hanging parking ticket from this event inside.

Story 17 is about our annual family photo for our Christmas card this year.  I made a double interactive hinged door page.  I was able to include all my favorite photos from that days photo shoot.

Story 18, is my love for Starbucks coffee and my favorite one this season is the Nitro cold brew.  I used the actual coffee cups and punched out circles for this layout and made them into a tree.

Story 19, is all about my wonderful doxie, Zoe.  She had a bad arthritis flare up during the holidays and couldn't really walk very well so she is carried everywhere.

Story 20, is another annual tradition of  mine, the gathering of the new ornaments for that year.  I clustered them together for the photo and made another interactive page and fold out for my journaling.  I used white with gray number stickers from an old Studio Calico sheet.

Day 21 was spent wrapping Christmas gifts and I did not include a photo for this spread but a large piece of my actual wrapping paper for this year.  This cheerful Santa paper was from Target this year and included a tag for my journaling.

Day 22 we attended the last home game to the Miami Dolphins.  Miguel is a loyal fan and we have season tickets.  Since it was the last game I thought it was a perfect chance to take Valentina to her first Dolphin game.  She did so well and enjoyed it.  The crowds nor the loud noise seemed to have bothered her.

Day 23 was ugly sweater day at the office and our staff joined in on the fun.  We are thankful for them both and appreciate their hard work.  A small gift exchange was also had.

Day 24 was spent half at work and half with the family.  I loved this awesome Santa card I got from 5 below.  I used it as the day card and included my journaling inside.

Day 25 needs no explanation, family, gifts, good food and fun was had all day.

Day 28 was spent at Disneyworld, Magic Kingdom.  It was an amazing day with the whole family once again.

I concluded my DD with day 31, a fun but early News Years Eve with the family once again.  I am very happy I've completed another December Daily.  This is my 5th year doing this project and I love it more with Valentina in the world to share it with.  I hope you found my pages inspiring.

December Daily 2019: Days 1-14

Hello my lovely scrappy ladies.  I am super excited to have another completed December Daily mini album for my collection.  This is my 5th year doing this amazing project and I am so happy that I made the time to document our holiday memories.  Valentina is now 2 years old and working full time is exhausting, but I tried to do as many holiday activities I could share with her the magic of Christmas.  A lot of family also flew into town for the holidays so it was super special for her to hang and play with all her cousins.

Instead of a classic photo of my tree in front of distracting furniture in the background, I decided to take photos of different ornaments and ribbons that were on my branches this year.  I then did a repeating hexagon pattern with patterned paper.

Day 2 was the story of Valentina's love for coloring books. She woke this day and her first thought was, 'mommy, I want to color.'  So I used supplies from Elle's Studio Document December kit.

Day 3, we went to visit the Sandi Christmas Tree in West Palm Beach.  This is Christmas Florida style for sure.  All products used were from Elle's Studio DD kit.

To compliment the Elle's Studio DD kit I added the My Minds Eye, Holly Jolly collection.  The colors of red, pink, mint and green worked perfectly together.  For Day 4, it was a #Momlife moment on an interactive page.  Frozen is on re run in my house, Zoe, my doxie, is always waiting for food to fall from Valentina and I purchased a new kitchen set for her that day.  She loves playing with her new kitchen set.

For the 5th story of my album, I made a pocket page and made three large tags.  Two were photos and one held my journaling.  Today's story is about having wonderful grandma moments.  Valentina adorns both her grandmas and I captured a great moment in front of this large christmas tree in town. For story 6,  its 6 of my favorite things.  Each envelope was constructed using the WRMK envelop board and I tucked in small photos with journaling on the back.

Story 7 is about a fun neighborhood holiday event where we got to take pictures with Santa and fun crafts.  It was a super fun event that I will look for again next year.  Valentina made a ginger bread girl and ate candy canes.  A fun holiday memory for the books.

Day 8, I cut a wreath cut file twice, once on glittered card stock and the other on a green wood grain paper and constructed the wreath on gold metallic paper.  I love this page so much.  It is beautiful in my album.

For this story, I journaled about how much Valentina loves the park.  She is discovering the world around her one day at a time.  I took the time to journal about her perspective.  It includes more photos on the inside of the right side, it flips out.

Story 9 was meeting Santa again, which did not go well.  She never truly cried but she was completely untrusting in all the photos.  I am crossing my fingers that next year she may enjoy meeting him.  Supplies for the pockets are from Elle's Studio and the Santa paper on the right is from the Holly Jolly collection from My Minds Eye.

Story 10, is about 10 funny things Valentina says.  She's learning new words everyday and its adorable to hear her talk.  The photo was a day her and I had together because the sitter called out.  A festive Christmas tree was in town so we went and visited.

Day 11 and 12 were kept simple, a few embellishments from Elle's Studio and photos of the office and my sister.

Day 13, my most favorite tradition, matching Christmas jammies.  I love matching my sister every year.  Last year my mom joined in.  This year we had each other plus Valentina.  Red and white striped pants and Santa Tees.  Valentina had a candy cane set.  The photos were so cute and we had so many to choose from.

Day 14 we went to Candytopia down in Miami.  It is a traveling Candy museum and it was the coolest thing to go to with my sister in town.  Every room visited had 4 or more photo opportunities with photos and props all made from candy.  It was so hard to choose the 12 photos that went in this insert.  I love how my December Daily album is turning out.  I love the colors and the stories I am documenting.

Here is a video flip through for your viewing pleasure.

December Daily Flip Through

Happy Holidays Crafty Friends!  I am so excited and I feel so accomplished for completing my December Daily 2018.  I told myself to be satisfied with complete rather than perfect.  In the end, I am smitten with my album and how wonderful it is.  I used a majority of the Snow and Cocoa line from Crate Paper that was released 2 years ago.  Last year I had a newborn baby and thought I would be able to scrap.  Turns out I had no time.  Opening weeks of motherhood are the toughest.

Valentina's first birthday party was actually on the first of December.  It was a baby Frida themed party and it was the perfect opening layout and story for Day 1.

I liked the cohesiveness of my pink numbers cut out from pink glitter card stock and embellishments from the Snow and Cocoa line.

Day 6 we took Valentina to see Santa and that was a hilarious experience.  She loved the snow and the trees but as soon as she saw the main guy she lost her marbles within seconds.  Im glad the photographer snapped the initial photo seconds before she started hysterical crying.

My love for Starbucks runs deep all year round.  But when the holiday designs come out, I become obsessed.  Took each pattern of Starbucks cup and made them into PL cards and circle punched a bunch to remember all the beautiful colors for Day 7.

Paige Evans has some beautiful cut files to use year round and her holiday gingerbread house was no exception.  Used it in a 6x8 pockets and it became a resting spot to my next story of our matching jammie tradition.  Each year we all get a pair.  Now we get to include Valentina in it as well.

How I love my sister, let me count the ways.  Day 10, ten things I love about my sister.  She comes and visits multiple times this year to help me with the baby.  I love her more and more as we grow up.  Snow and Cocoa and FaLaLa chipboard pieces here and a felt mint snowflake from Michaels.

We took our holiday card photos on Day 11 and my sister was the photographer.  An older Heidi Swapp wood veneer and embellishments from the FaLaLa collection from Crate Paper.  We printed our holiday cards this year from Staples.

Loving my Zoe who is aging like fine wine.  She had a vet checkup on Day 15 and she is healthy and just aging with some arthritis pain.  She has never liked going to the vet and she hides in the office every single time.  But she looks so darn cute in her holiday sweater.

Last year memories to this year.  Valentina was such a tiny little baby.  I love documenting life and going back to visit it like this.

Pinterest fail on Day 18.  I tried making red hand print ornaments for my family and it was an epic fail but I kept my practice runs and will write about her tiny hands.  But my baby sitter did the ornament just right.

Stripes of patterned paper to make my fun Christmas Tree and I finally got around to telling the story of my tree on Day 22.

My inspiration for Day 25 was from Ali Edwards and her tag layout.  All elements from Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa or FaLaLa.  I love the tags to show our day.  Below you will find my YT flip through video.  Thank you so much for joining me.  Till next project.

December Daily: Days 1-6

The first week of December has gone by so quickly.  It has been fun completely each page as the day as passed by.  Having my supplies and kit open on my tray on my desk as made the process easy and possible.  If I had to put away my supplies each day I would not get it done.  I have also been filming process videos for this mini album, which has been difficult. I complete my pages at night after work and sometimes my studio lights do not give great lighting.  For next week, I will try a "Flip Through" video to show the completed pages and describe what I used.  That may be a bit easier.
The goal is to document one story a day and that has been my focus.  I have been lucky enough to have a story I have wanted to capture.  I will admit it is hard sometimes because throughout a normal work week I am in a routine with not that much going on.  So I am taking the time to slow down and look at my life and document the good the bad and simplest regular things that usually would go unnoticed in my life.

I also need to stop the madness of comparing my work to others.  I fall in love with everyone's posted layouts and want to scrap lift everyone's.  I love my album too, I just get so inspired by others.

I think I purchased way too many supplies for my album.  I find myself overwhelmed with all the embellishments I have and try to use as much as I can on each layout, which is simply crazy thinking.  I have no idea why I am putting this much pressure on myself to have this mini album be perfect.  Despite all those little rants, I am still enjoying the process.  LOL.  I have a process video for this first 6 pages in my album for your viewing pleasure.
