#TOPNINE/ 12x12 Scrapbook Layout

Best Friends// Sunny Days by Maggie Holmes

Hello scrappin ladies!  I have a simple scrap lift from a fellow crafter.  It was the first layout I saw using the Sunny Days collection by Maggie Holmes and I definitely wanted to re create it for my album with a photo of Miguel and I.

I started out with fussy cutting out the beautiful florals in two patterned papers and the bright blue butterflies from another.

There are two main clusters in this layout, one around the photo and one in the right lower corner to balance out the layout. I pulled some pieces from my stash, like the dollie, vellum gold flowers and acetate leaves.

Once my clusters were adhered, its time to start adding the bling/sequins to the layout. I love adding a little more sparkle to my layouts. The gold glitter sequins and hexagons are from Hexa Glam. While the opal pinks are from Dragon's Tale.

The black and white bow is from an older Maggie Holmes collection and the heart charm is from Pick me Up by Paige Evans. I tied it off with some embroidery thread.

Love My Sister so much// Scrapbook Layout

Welcome back my scrapbooking friends!  I have been on a roll this week with scrapping from my stash.  I obviously have not been spending money on many supplies lately since becoming a new mom.  And I am currently not on any design teams in which I would be given new products to feature in my layouts.  I get the liberty to bust out some oldies but goodies I've purchased and hoarded this entire time.  For this layout, I was inspired by the lovely Paige Evans and a layout she did a year ago it seems.  But I am not featuring any of her products, this is all Amy Tangerine.

I first started out fussy cutting out all the florals from a patterned paper called Knot + Bow from the Better Together collection by Amy Tangerine.

I loved the contrast of this navy patterned paper called Explore from the Finders Keepers collection by Amy Tangerine.  All these beautiful papers just sitting in my crafty room.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the LOVE letters on white card stock and then took white embroidery thread and did a back stitch along the edge.  It added texture and detail to the layout.

I used two others Alpha Thickers from my stash as well to compete my title.  All were from collections from Amy Tangerine once again.

I embellished my layout with three white butterflies, a few buttons, rubber pieces and stickers from my stash on my desk.  Its time to use these beautiful products.

Thank you for stopping by and spending some time with me.  My process video is below to view.

Beautiful Smiles// Pretty Patterned Paper Playground

The Pretty Patterned Paper Playground is a series Katty Miranda and I have started together.  We live an hour apart from each other so we like to get together and scrap.  We made a Facebook group for everyone to come and share their work.  For this layout we wanted to scrap lift the lovely Missy Whiden on YouTube.  This technique was fun and easy to do for a "control" mixed media effect.  This technique is wonderful for those scrappers just starting out in mixed media.  This was Missy's layout:

She did this layout a while ago on her channel.  She, and I, started out with a scrap piece of card stock and randomly started adding mists, splatters, inks and paints.  The randomness lets you achieve color blending and effects that cannot be achieved without intuitive nature of this technique.  I let layers dry before adding more on top.  I even went in with stamps with stitching effects and music notes for added interest to the paper.  When this scrap of paper with all your colors was dried, simply use a circle punch and cut it up.  To me, the paper resembled the galaxy with stars.

I arranged them in the exact same way as she did.  I added strips of patterned paper to the side of the layout like book ends.  I added black round dies from an old Heidi Swapp collection in my stash with some pop dots.  The Tim Holtz conversation tiny word stickers were also added from my stash.

I scrapped a picture I took with my mom when she came over to my coast of Florida and had tickets to see Kinky Boots.  At the event, they had a step and repeat carpet area and was able to take a selfie with my mom.  It is a lovely memory to hold onto.  Here is my process video so that you can watch this technique being done.  Hope you enjoy.
