Mixed Media Scarpbook Layout: Travel/Journey

My trip to Vegas was amazing and here I am showing off all the hotels on the strip. We were tourist and did a bus tour of the strip our first day.  I live in Florida with a humidity factor in the air, Las Vegas is super hot and dry.  I do believe it was over 100 degrees the entire weekend.  The bus tour does the entire strip in a loop all day long and we could get on and off as we liked.  The hotels are huge, sparkly and impressive.  Each one is its own little city. I am using my June Clique Kit for this layout.  I used the Crate Paper Journeys collection, "TeePee" patterned paper for the background and "Explore" I used for the boarder.  I mixed modeling paste with Mango and Red Apple Plaid acrylic craft paint to get the bright coral color and used The Crafter's Workshop stencil in Fancy Feathers.  I added three large feathers to compliment the patterned paper and colors of my layout.
I grounded the photos with pieces of "Happy Camper" behind them.  This paper matched the feathers nicely.  The die cuts, wood veneer and flair on the page were all from the kit.  The cork phrase stickers were not from the kit but are from the Journeys collection.  I simply used two words as the title for my layout.

Overall, the use of the June Clique Kit for the last four layouts on my blog and YouTube Channel are my favorite.  They are all cohesive and document my wonderful vacation to Vegas.  I do have two or three special layout coming up, because Miguel proposed to me in Vegas.  I'm engaged and need to scrap those photos.

Here is the process video of me putting this layout together.

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: Good Times/ Friends

The June Clique Kits have impressed me.  This is my first month being apart of this subscription kit and I have loved all the contents of the kit.  The Crate Paper, Journeys collection was featured.  I recently had a trip to Las Vegas and my pictures worked perfectly with the patterned papers.  Everything utilized on this layout is from the kit except my mixed media and the gold foil phrase stickers.

I started with using the Explore patterned paper and use my Hero Arts stencil called "Triangles" with Mango and Aqua craft acrylic paint from Apple Barrel.  I cut out the feathers on the Tribal patterned paper using my Jenni Bowlin stencil called "Detailed Feathers."  The die cuts and wood veneers are from the kit and add interest to the layout.

I have a process video for this layout so that you can see how I did it.  Please watch and enjoy.

Scrapbook Layout: Grand Canyon

My second scrapbook layout using the June Clique Kits is complete.  It features the Crate Paper Journeys collection.  The kit provides scrapers with patterned paper, coordinating die cuts, stickers, cut apart, puffy stickers, flair buttons and much more.  Subscription kits are the best deal I can recommend to anyone who may just be starting out or already an avid scrapbooker.  In this layout I am showing off some pictures I took on my tour of the Grand Canyon.  It is breath taking and majestic. Words cannot even describe the absolute beauty of it.  We were in Las Vegas for my 34th birthday and he proposed!!!  He got down on one knee at the top of the Stratosphere hotel on the balcony looking out on the Vegas strip at night.  I was surprised and shocked and obviously emotional.  Our tour of the Grand Canyon was already on the books, so I was the happiest girl (and still am) on earth while visiting the Grand Canyon.

I started this layout using the Free Spirit patterned paper and Happy Camper was used for the strips.  I love feathers and wanted the feathers to still show around the layout.  I wish I had two sheets of this patterned paper.  I did not incorporate any mixed media because i was using multiple photos.  The gold foil acetate pieces worked well has over lays.  I used the cut apart page and many die cuts from the collection.  I absolutely loved the large gold foiled letters from My Mind's Eye, called Niche.

Scrapbook Mixed Media Layout: Love This

Hello crafty friends.  I have a new subscription kit.... Clique Kits.  My first kit is for the month of June.  I've been dying to get my hands on this kit and play.  I was on vacation in Las Vegas for my birthday in the beginning of the month and have been playing none stop.  I have a few layout from my trip to Vegas and the Crate Paper Journeys collection worked perfectly to showcase my trip.  But first let me start with this layout with Zoe, my doxie, and I on our walks in the park.  She is hilarious and definitely has "little dog" syndrome.  She thinks she is so much tougher and bigger than who is really is.

So with this layout I started with using the patterned paper called Journey and applied white gesso so that I could play with gold gelatos and Orange Ken Oliver Color Burst.  I double matted my pictures with the Quest patterned paper.  I loved the Crate Paper Journey Let's go cut apart page as well as the Gold foil on Acetate cut apart.  Gold foil accents are on trend right now in a lot of collections.  It adds a lovely metallic detail to the page.  The kit also included these as well has the matching puffy stickers and die cut pack.  The kit provides everything needed to have a coordinating layout.  I love subscription kits for this reason.

Project Life: A Day in the Life

Recently, I was cruising around my favorite blogs and fellow scrapbookers for inspiration.  I came across Ali Edwards who invited everyone to participate in her "A Day in the Life" prompt.  She emphasizes the importance in documenting the everyday things, the simple routines in your life that would otherwise go undocumented.  I fell in love with this idea.  My everyday routines seem to go unnoticed in my albums.  I am usually only taking photos during events and special occasions.  It made me think and look at my life and see if I ever do document my job, my dog walks, my commutes to work, the cooking or the getting ready for work.  I had not one picture to show any of these moments that make up my life.  So I was thrilled to participate.
The day chosen was a typical work weekday.  And my story went a little like this...
A day in my life begins around 7-7:20 am when my alarm goes off.  I share my walk-in closet with my boyfriend (now fiance), and I obviously take more of the available room.  My M-F job requires me to wear scrubs, so I never need brain power to get ready in the morning.  My scrubs are all solid colors and hung in the center.  Thankfully we have a double sink set up in our bathroom so my area is filled with all my own toiletries and makeup. I have an auto immune condition that affects my skin due to diet and I'm happy when i have clear days and my skin is normal.  I walk my mini doxie, Zoe around the neighborhood and at this point, Miguel (my fiance) is also up and laying out his clothes.  Zoe loves Miguel's scent so much, that she makes it a daily habit to lay on his freshly laid out clothes.  I had to capture that moment.

Into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee and prep my 'to-go' Miami Dolphin Tervis for my morning commute.  I pack my breakfast and lunch everyday and I carry my work tote, my lunch box and my purse to work everyday.  I am always baffled by how much I travel with day to day.  My trusty Civic, aka White Chocolate, gets parked in the shade everyday at my office.  I was recently in a car accident and my car is all repaired and running great.  The day before I documented my day, my parents rescued a dog.  He is a Havanese and they named him Oliver.  He is special and perfect for my retired parents.

I work with patients day to day.  I spent time with them during treatment and then all the paperwork that follows.  I love the cloud formations on my commute home.  I always look at clouds but have never snapped a picture, so here I am documenting the small things.  Selfies with my Zoe at the dinner table, I am horrible and I am that dog mom that gives her dog the ends of dinner.  Don't judge me (lol).  I walk Zoe after we all eat dinner again and a selfie to capture the setting sun in our faces.  Miguel is fantastic when it comes to snuggling with Zoe.  This is why she loves him so much.  I usually spend my evening in my craft room art journaling, scrapbooking, filming for YouTube or blogging.  This was a fun prompt to follow and I encourage everyone to give it a try.  Ali Edwards also does "A week in the life" too and offers kits to order as well.
I made a process video for my pages as well.  Please take a look...

Scrapbook Mixed Media Layout: I love right now

Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by.  I played with Faber Castell Gelatos for this layout and love the painterly watercolor effect I managed to get.  I used a piece of plastic packaging to achieve this effect and water.  I applied the gelatos right to the plastic packaging and sprayed water on it, rubbed it together to have the gelatos become more fluid and then applied to the the American Crafts card stock.  I wanted to keep this page with oranges on one side and yellows on the other with the gelatos.  I love it.

The two pictures are of us picking up Zoe from a friends house.  It was a nice spring day and Zoe loved placing her head out the window.  I got the perfect reflection in the side view mirror with her ears in the wind.  And then why not take a selfie while at a red light.  It was a nice little family pic.

I used my 2" circle punch and used two sheets of Amy Tangerine's Rise and Shine collection sheets of patterned paper.  "Ella" is the yellow one with white hearts and "Claire" is the grid orange on.  I enjoyed this lemon and orange citrus twist theme I have going on with this layout.

I also have a process video so that you can see the gelatos in action.
