Happy Day Together// The Ink Road DT

Good day lovely ladies!  Today's layout if for The Ink Road and it features items found in the shop.  I was creative and used 3 different paper collections for a unique look.  When you have all these pretty supplies to use, you basically want to use them all on one layout.  This layout features Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy, Crate Paper Wonder and Maggie Holmes Shine collections.  The photo I am scrapping is from my Valentine's Day to Disney world here in Florida.  Believe it or not, it was my first trip to this theme park.

I knew I wanted to start off with the gorgeous vellum sheet from Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy.  I am a sucker for anything gold foiled.  I did not want to block any of the pretty numbers so I utilized it for the upper third of my layout to shine on its own.  I then had a few of the lovely patterned papers from the Crate Paper Wonder collection, so I took stripes from each to show them off.  I used Dream and Wonderful for this layout.

No layout is complete for me without some texture or mixed media.  So I added some modeling paste mixed with a teal color paint and used a checkered stencils to the bottom of the layout for some interest.  I liked the geometric pattern as well due to the paper patterns.

The embellishment cluster around the photo and to the left of it is Maggie Holmes Shine collection ephemera pack.  For the title I used a few different elements.  The word "Happy" is from the Wonder Collection, the green alphas are from the Shine collection and the "together" is from the ephemera pack from Shine as well.  The chipboard is also from the Wonder collections, so I loved the bunting circle banner under the photo and the heart above the photo.  And the tucked gold dollie is from my stash.  I will finish off this layout with some journaling and some black ink splatters.  If you are interested in any of the products mentioned and want to make a purchase at The Ink Road, use code Evi10 for 10% off your purchase.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  Here is the link to my process video.

The Sweet Life// Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello beauties!!  Have you been able to play with the Maggie Holmes Shine collection yet?  You need too.  This collection is gorgeous and am a bit of a hoarder with my supplies.  I actually have 3 sheets of the sticker collection and ephemera packs in fear of running out.  Do not judge me.  Lol.  The photos are from a few weeks ago done in the park with my precious fur babies.  I printed the center one in full color and the other two in black and white, so they did not compete with the layout.  The focal point is the center.  The background paper is named Darling and it was my starting point.  I matted my photos first on the bright numbers paper called Momento and then on the green and white striped one called Charming.

I love love love the acetate sheet with the rows of gold glittered hearts and will continue to just use stripes of this until its all gone.  The bows are punched out of a 12x12 sheet of paper called Charming.  The opposite side was also used every other circle punch.  The embellishments in the top right corner are from the ephemera pack in the collection.

For the mixed media aspect of the page.  I added white gesso with my fingers around the perimeter of the photos and behind the circle cluster I was making.  Once the gesso dried with my finger, I added Viva Decor Inka gold gloss paint to it in a random fashion.  I just made sure it would pop out around the photos and behind the circle cluster.  I finished off the layout with the chunky gold glitter phrase thicker from the collection along with gold ink splatters.

I have included my process video for your viewing pleasure.

Love you & me// The Clique Kit Blog Hop

Hello all my beautiful scrapbook friends.  Thank you for stopping by during our monthly blog hop.  This months kit features the lovely Maggie Holmes Shine collection which is just so beautiful.  I find it very very hard to cut into a 12x12 sheet of paper because I want to hoard them and have to tell myself--> no--> create pretty layouts with it.  Its ok to cut pretty patterned paper.
So, I started out with American Crafts white card stock and I am using the speciality acetate sheet from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection that was in the February Clique Kit.  I layered red, yellow, blue and mint green PL cards from former kits behind my picture.  The photo is from my Valentine's day this year on my first visit to Disney World.  I had a great time there and everyone has their classic photo in front of the castle.

I added Dylusion mists in Calypso Blue, bubblegum pink and lemon zest around the photo on the white card stock along with cracked pistachio from Distress.  I knew where I wanted to position my photo and the watercolor effect went all around it.  I then added watercolor splatters in the same colors to the card stock to add more dimension to my background when the acetate sheet was on top of it.

The ephemera  wood veneer and stickers are all from the Shine collection and in the kit this month.  I added a few pieces from the Hello Love collection as well.  I love the look of the tangled thread on layouts as a final touch.  Here is my process video for you to see it coming together.

Cheeky//Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

I think I out did myself with this layout.  I do not know how the idea came to me.  I do not know if I saw it once before.  It just came to be.  And best part, I scrapped photos of my best friend and her beautiful baby girl and I will be mailing it to her to grace her walls.  Proud moment for me.  This layout has plenty of layers to it and I will try to explain as best as I can, but I will link a process video down below for you to see it come together.  I started out with white textured card stock from American crafts and used a Heidi Swapp stencil with repeating hearts.  This was done with light pink craft acrylic paint.
I then used the Hello Love collection patterned paper and my Cameo to cut the heart die cut with the words 'love' circling around it.  It was a free cut file offered during a blog hop not to long ago.  The paper had a lovely pink ombre effect to it.  Then I used a speciality acetate sheet from Teresa Collins with those light blush colored polka dots on it.
Normal scrapbookers would have maybe stopped there, but oh no, not me.  I proceeded to grab another Heidi Swapp Stencil from my collection with these larger elongated hearts to layer onto of the acetate.  I mixed regular modeling paste with gold acrylic paint and scrapped it through the stencil.  To take it even a level further, I sprinkled loose gold glitter on top of the wet gold colored modeling paste and the results are amazing.  I cannot believe how stunning the gold hearts look on it.
So I layered all these elements together for a wonderful effect.  The "cheeky" is a watercolor word from Heidi swap and the little tags are from the exclusive XOXO kit from Clique Kits, doilies from my stash and Tim Holtz tiny phrases.  The embellishments were adhered using glossy accents.  I am so proud of the results. Please view the video below on how it all came together.
Thank you, Evi

BeYouTiful: Art Journey

Hello crafty friends!  I recently spent one of my weekend days off completely inspired and crafted all day.  Previous to this art journal page I had completed 4 mixed media layouts and caught up with  my project life.  However, my creative juices were still flowing strong, so I embraced it and took out my Dylusion art journal and created this colorful and bright page in no time at all.  Don't you just love when you creativity is on fire like that.  I definitely enjoyed the day because of it.
To start I did prime both pages with white gesso and let it dry.  I then used the Tim Holtz Ideology Tissue roll in Melange and applied it to both pages with gel medium.
Each step in this process did need some drying time.  When adding color, learn from my mistakes, put paper towel down or something to absorb the excess drippings.  I did not do this and my desk was a mess for a moment.  I used my Dylusion Ink Sprays in Postbox red, Squeezed Orange, Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime, London Blue and Crushed Grape.  I saturated the top of the page and let each one drip down with gravity for this effect.  Each on was done separately.  I would advice taking your time and not rushing in order to control the mess that may occur.
Let this portion dry as well.  Next, I fuzzy cut out this gorgeous image of all these celebrities and their dress that were arranged in this ROY G BIV collection and it was a two page spread. It was the base inspiration for the layout.  After fussy cutting it out I used the same gel medium to adhere the image to this layout.
For some creatives, once the collage is added, you could call the page done. But for me, I still need to add to it.  So in order to blend the edge of the image into the background I added stamping of music notes and numbers along the edges.  I was random with my placement and did not care if it was over faces or on the dress.  I just stamped and stamped with black Staz-on ink.
I then proceeded to add stenciling with white modeling paste in random locations too.  The titile " Be You Tiful" is a new stencil to my collection from Fabre Castell and it made the page have purpose.  Love it.

I added my process video below for your viewing pleasure.

Best Day Ever/ Mixed Media Layout

Hello lovely ladies!! Thank you for stopping by for today's layout.  I have recently highlighted my hair to have purple ombre to blue.  I have wanted to do this to my hair for over a year but have been so scared to get it done.  Mostly because I am a young professional and it may not be very professional to have oddly colored hair.  But my cousin did my hair and she managed to do it perfectly.  Noticeable but not in your face, and I am comfortable with it at work.  I think its the true artist in me that loves the individualism it provides me.  I can't explain enough how much I love my hair right now and will maintain it for awhile.  And the glorious part too, if I do not like the color combo later, I can change it to pink and purple or something.  Just saying...
So back to the layout... I did a few loose painterly strokes with craft acrylic paints in colors that match my hair.  I had too.   I also added black ink splatters once those were dry.  The background paper is from Maggie Holmes Shine collection called Radiant and gesso was applied initially.
I then took the 'Best Day Ever' wood veneer from the Shine collection and applied white gesso on it.  I decided to use it as my title and in order to make it stand out, I decided to do a very time consuming task of applying individual colored sequins to outline each letter of the word.  I used Glossy Accents as my glue and had to let it dry over night.  That part was a lot of time because the sequins moved around constantly while it was wet.  I do not know if using hot glue would have been better because I was leery about melting the sequins.  Overall, I love the bold element it provides for the layout and it was well worth it.

The diamond wood veneer was also from the collection and I applied black ink on it to make it pop. The photo was layered with Brilliant and Dazzle from the Shine collection and Showroom from the Memorandum collection.  I added some tangled navy thread around a flair button in my stash along with a few random embellishments in my collection.

Thank you,
Evi

XOXO/ Scrapbook Layout

Hello scrappy ladies! Today's scrapbook layout features a fun cut file from The Cut Shoppe on Etsy, called X to the O.  I cut it our on American Crafts white textured card stock because I was not sure initially if I was going to add mix media to my layout or not.  This is all paper crafts for today.  I added splatters to the layout but that is all.  I am scrapping two lovely pictures of my sister playing tennis with  my parents.  Never ever did I think I would see the day but as an adult she ventured out with my tennis playing parents.  I printed them in black and white to not compete with the colorful background.

I backed the open Xs and Os with patterned paper from the Crate Paper Hello Love collection as well as Bella Blvd Valentina collection.  These were featured in the Clique Kits Valentine's limited edition kit.  I kept the colors to the lovely pinks, soft reds and corals.  I decided on this beautiful pink ombre paper to mat the cut file on, 'See you soon' from Bella Blvd.  When it came time to embellish, I needed to have the contrast of black to really stand out and pop off the page.

The black arrow paperclip is from the Target dollar spot and the black tiny word stickers are from the Valentina Tiny Treasures sticker sheet.  I loved adding this 3D crepe paper embellishment from Crate Paper Hello Love collection that I received from The Ink Road
The "XOXO" wood veneer from the same collection is heat embossed with black and the "heart" outline black ink was applied to stand out as well.
To add more contrast to the layout I added black tangled thread to the opposite corners.  The banner, resin heart and floral sticker are all from the Hello Love collection as well.  I did some light journaling at the bottom of the layout and completed the layout with black ink splatters on top.  The black elements really popped on this layout.

Sister Bonding// The Ink Road

Hello lovely scrappers! What is a better way to represent your love for your sister than a sisterly layout using the beautiful Crate Paper 'Hello Love' collection for The Ink Road.   This collection is one of my favorites.  I have such a hard time cutting into my 12x12 sheets of patterned paper because I think they are all too pretty to cut.  I know I am not the only one who feels like this.  Lol.  I started out doing the packaging technique to a few pink mists from my collection like Delusion Bubblegum pink, Color Shine in Pink and Lindy Stamp Gang mists in Hottie Pattoie Hot Pink, Magenta Marigold, Raspberry Lemonade.  I also added splatters with these colors.
I started creating layers with hot pink tissue paper and made it into a ruffle edge.  I used "Lots of Love" and "Sweetly" for the extra strips to create more layers for the left side of the layout.  My word "Love" that is apart of my title is from the chipboard sheet from the Hello Love collection, along with the lovely floral and heart tassel on the layout.  The alphas are 'Desktop" font from American Crafts.

I am scrapping three photos of my sister and I during her visit when we wore our matching PJs I picked up for us.  Two are black and white and one is in color.  It was a non stop night of laughing.  I finished off the details of the layout with stickers from the Hello Collection and die cuts.  I loved adding tiny word stickers from the Carpe Diem collection as well.
It was a fun layout to put together and loved reminiscing about our fun evening together acting like kids again.  Here is the process video for this layout:

2 Happy Doxies// THE INK ROAD

Hello my scrappy friends.  I have my second layout for The Ink Road.  I wanted to use some older products for this layout.  I did not get to previously play with the Confetti line by Crate Paper and Lara was kind enough to provide me with some products to play with.  I am scrapping a few pictures of my two wonderful doxies.  I have been on a roll with multiple photo layouts so I am keeping the merriment going.

I had an idea to use these wood veneer hoops from the Confetti Crate Paper collection.  The pack comes with three different sizes and I choose 2 of them.  I sometimes dislike the raw wood look, so I thought I would jazz them up with gold embossing powders with Versa Mark Ink.  I wanted to make my own dies, so I used black card stock and the Lora Bailora Stamp set called Love and heat embossed those as well. I then added some gold metallic gelato to a few black card stock circles as well for added gold elements for the layout.

I then flipped through the Confetti ephemera pack from Crate paper as well for the embellishment cluster on the right.  I also used the Maggie Holmes Floral Dies from the collection to make more of the lovely flowers in the set.  I used another patterned paper from the collection and utilized both sides to make the florals.  The word "happy" is from the acetate sheet for the Crate Paper Journeys collection and the alphas are from my stash.  I love adding tangled gold thread to layouts lately as well.

OMG! I realized I photographed my layout with a missing "I" from the word Doxies.  It must have fallen off when I carried it to be photographed outside.

Love This// Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hey there scrappy peeps!!  I have a fun mixed media layout for you.  I have never scrapped 4 photos before, but I think it works.  My sister recently visited and I took her to the Art District of Wynwood Miami for brunch.  It was a heavy rainy day but we managed to make the best of it.  Wynwood is known for having these graffiti walls along with artist murals on every single wall in the neighborhood.  Nothing is ruined or destroyed and they are huge.  We took plenty of pictures in front of all these amazing walls while getting wet each time.  It was fun and we got some amazing photos.

Is started out the layout with white card stock from American Crafts and used the Hearts Stencil from Dylusions.  It is my first time using this fun stencil. I used the Ranger blending tool and Dylusion acrylic paint in Black Marble.  I went at this portion very loosely, not worrying if the results were imperfect.  I then staggered the stencil and mists Tater Angels Tin Can through it.  Tin Can is a silver shimmer mists that gave the background some dimension.  I then went a little heart crazy and used another stencil with hearts and texture paste from Ranger.  MFT Staggered Hearth added even more dimension to my heart background.  Due to the color photos, I kept my background black and white.
My mix media background I mounted on Lets Party from the Fine & Dandy collection from Dear Lizzy.  It was a trim of color for the layout.  I keep the embellishments to a minimal at this point.  The title 'Love This' is from Pink Paislee Cedar Lane phrase thickers.

The last details are some pink and white washi tape from my stash and some pink and red resin hearts I purchased at Micheal's recently.  I added some Dylusion Bubblegum pink splatters and light journalling across the top.  I have the process video down below if you want to see this layout come together.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
