Guest Designer for Cheeky Studio// Happy Place

Hello scrappy friends!  For the month of February I have been a guest designer for the Cheeky Studio online store, show casing there fabulous products.  Cheeky Studio features scrapbook paper kits, ephemera, wood veneer, sequin and fabric bows to purchase.  For today's layout I am featuring the Wild Flowers #5 ephemera, the 'happy place' wood veneer, flair buttons and the fabric bow.

I started out with a large V cut file with my Cameo and I covered it with the Wild Flower ephemera pack.   I trimmed off any edges that went off the cut file.  I love the layers and the pieces that also include words like Sassy, Love and Awesome.

I matted my large V covered with ephemera with a aqua colored solid card stock in my stash and decided on a contrasting black and white striped patterned paper from DCWV paper pad I picked up from Tuesday Morning.  For added dimension I added fun foam underneath it in order to tuck my photo behind it.

I then worked on my title corner.  I painted my wood veneer with in expensive hot pink acrylic paint. Aqua glitter thicker were chosen to spell out my daughters name and a different font to make 'happy place' work.  Valentina is my happy place is perfect.  She is and always will be.  I had plenty of ephemera left to tuck a few pieces behind.  For more dimension the flair button and bow were added to the cluster.

The last details were 'Flamingo Fun' sequins from the shop and well as Gold Color Shine by Heidi Swapp.  My process video is linked below for your viewing pleasure.

Guest Designer SpiegelMom Scraps// Cheers

Hello scrappy friends! I am excited to be the guest designer for Spiegelmom Scraps and featuring her lovely sequin collections.  In this layout I will be using Bursting Sunrays and Ride the Tide.  I decided on a linear graphic cut file from the Hip Kit Club that I repeated as a 6x6 square 4 times to make it 12x12.  I thought it would be a good cut file to back with different colored papers from an Amy Tangerine collections called Sunshine and Good Times.

I used 8 different papers from the 6x6 paper pad from the collection.  I choose ones that were very colorful.  The rainbows and floral prints are my favorite.

Once the cut file was backed I decided on the placement of my photos.  They held a blue color throughout both and were appealing in a linear design as well.  I then began adding my sequins within the rows of the cut files.  I concentrated the blues from Ride the Tide for the bottom half and used Bursting Sunrays for the top portion.

Once the sequin were dried, I felt the layout did not need much more, but us scrapbookers love to embellish so i went through my stash and choose two large butterflies from a Vicki Boutin collections and stickers thats matched.

My title i choose was also from an older Amy Tangerine collection, Better Together in a black bold font.  It was good contrast to the photos.

I love the final layout featuring these beautiful sequins to enhance the papers underneath.  I hope you are inspired to try a layout like this yourself.  Do not forget to embellish your layouts with sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps's shop for added details.  Sequins always add a bit of shine and sparkle.

Sweet Girl// Stamping & Fussy Cutting

Hello Ladies! I just absolutely love the way this layout turned out.  This layout was a labor of love.  It required patience because I fussy cut out every single flower.  But the end result was well worth the effort.  I love that I can take the time to do layouts like this from time to time.

I began stamping three different flower images from the same stamp set from Hero Arts that I recently picked up from Tuesday Morning.   I used a patterned paper that was a wash of purples, pinks, corals with a few areas of blue from an older Pink Paislee collection, Summer Lights.  I used the entire 12x12 sheet of paper.

Once they were all cut out I started arranging them along the sides, in a diagonal, bunched around the photo and thats when I pushed them slightly outward from the photo and created a ring/ wreath with all of them.  Thats where I fell in love with the arrangement.  I also then thought about cutting my 4x6 photo into a circle as well.  It worked perfectly.

For added interest to the corners of my layout I used a stencil from The Crafters Workshop called Doodle Bloom with a heavy gel with glitter in it from Shimmerz. I had to let this dry for awhile before continuing on.

My last details were adding enamel dots and sequins in the centers of the flowers for more interest to the circle of flowers.  I color coordinated the colors as best I could.

Here is my process video linked below so you can see it all come together.

Guest Designer for Scrappin Happy Studio & SpiegelMom Scraps// 8 Happy Moments

OMG! I am so excited to have teamed up with Scrappin Happy Studio and Spiegelmom Scraps for a fun IG hop.  We were able to play with some great epoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio and gorgeous sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps.  I was joined by about ten other lovely scrapper in our community for this IG hop.  In this layout I am playing with the 'Numbers' set from her Etsy shop and  Easy Breezy Beautiful sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps's shop.

I started out with a cut file called 'Circle Heart Page Frame' from the Silhouette Design Store.  I backed the heart openings with patterned papers from my stash including mint glitter paper, mint patterned paper and other pink/red papers.

I made sure to alternate each opening.  And mounted the cut file on a light pink card stock for the background.  I printed 2x2 inch squares of 'Happy Moments' with my daughter.  All are of us smiling and enjoying life. I used the epoxy flair to number each of these moments.

Then it was time for all the details.  I used Easy Breezy Beautiful sequin from Spiegelmom Scraps in each heart for details.  I also added different sized puffy hearts from the Target dollar spot and tiny word phrase stickers as well.

I simply love how this layout turned out.  My last detail was adding Nuvo dimensional dots to the inner circle boarder of the layout in pink.  Again, it was just added detail to the layout that are catching to the eye.

Thank you for stopping by.  Below is the link to my process video for your viewing pleasure.

XOXO// Folded Hexagons

Hey scrappy friends!! I am simply in love with the result of this layout.  I was inspired by the lovely Paige Evans for this layout and it came out wonderful.  The dimension and details throughout the layout allow your eyes to travel around this layout at all the elements.

I started out with paper number 5 from the Whimsical collection.  It has these gorgeous hexagons repeating throughout the paper in all different colors and patterns.  The opposite side of the paper is a simple white with colorful thin stripes.  As I fussy cut all the hexagons our I would fold in two adjacent side to create a point.  I repeated this step for the entire 12x12 paper and then began to arrange on white American Crafts card stock.

Six of these folded hexagons created a larger hexagon all together.  I loved this serendipitous outcome.  So I made two complete hexagons and made 4 half clusters to complete the layout I was pleased with.

To keep the layout cohesive I cut my two black and white photos into hexagons and matted them with similar color papers in my stash.   I then added texture with white modeling paste through a honey comb stencil from Echo Park.

For the last added details are hexagon sequin from Spiegelmom Scraps called Hexa Glam.  These went perfectly as the finishing touches to this layout and I simply love how it turned out.  Below is my process video.  Thank you for joining me.

Guest Designer for Cheeky Studio// Sweet Girl

Hello lovely scrapper!  Can I be impressed with my own work in this layout?  I simply love the elegant look of it with the light grays and blush colors in this layout.  I am the guest designer for Cheeky Studio the month of February and I sent some gorgeous ephemera and products to play with.

For this layout I started off with a cut file from the Silhoute Design Store called Wreath ID #.......on light gray card stock.  I then began to layer the Winter Flower ephemera pack in three clusters around the wreath.  Once I had lightly placed them there, I just loved it, and just started adding Scotch Tacky glue to all the pieces.

For added interest and dimension, I used fun foam behind some of the flowers.  My title I used the 'Sweet Girl' wood veneer that I took the time to paint black for contrast.

I added the Winter Flower flair around the photo of Valentina and my Doxie, Zoe from Christmas time.

To add more details to the layout, I added sequins from the 'Flamingo Fun' pack from the shop.  The sequins are a mix of opal pink, opal black/purple and opal clear pieces.  I scattered them around the wreath and layout.

My finishing elements were splatters in dark green and deep purple.  But it all dried so dark it just looks black.

I simply love this layout.  Its so elegant and pretty with the colors used.  It is just beautiful.  My process video is linked below for your viewing pleasure.
